We love this place and have our annual tea here consistently. Food is excellent, service is great and the ambiance is delightful. And we can actually have a conversation and hear each other. Great experience!

We were super excited to come to the Allis yesterday for a mid-afternoon High Tea reservation. Unfortunately, we stood for 30 minutes without being greeted, only to finally be told we could sit at our vacant table (empty since arrival) and remain ungreeted for an additional 30 minutes. After an hour passed and we notified the staff for the second time, our table was 'set' (i.e.: water glasses and tea cups placed down). When the manager came over, to our expectation to apologize, we were instead met with animosity about sitting before the table-setting and creating a 'not ideal' scenario for the restaurant. Unfortunately, the manager did not apologize and his demeanor led us to leave before ever having a drink or food/high tea (so, I cannot say whether the food was good or not). I'm super bummed because we had been waiting for this as the highlight of our holiday season and looked forward to becoming loyal customers and maybe even members. Likely not after how we were treated, hopefully others don't have this experience!

Was seeking out an afternoon tea in the city last minute and ended up booking this as it was the only decent spot that had availability, despite some bad reviews. Waited 35 minutes to be seated after checking in for our reservation, with many other parties of different sizes coming in later and getting shown to their table before us. Wait staff seemed to be stretched thin and were not attentive to the basic details (forgot the cream and sugar when serving our tea). Individual tea pots were dysfunctional and spewed tea down the spout and onto table, napkin, hands when poured. Food offerings for tea were small (scone was about 1/4 the size of what I would consider normal) and average-tasting while the tea itself was served lukewarm and lacked flavor. Spent less time at our table than we did waiting for it. Not worth the money or time.

everything was pretty good, but the service was noticeably slow - however they comped us a side dish that took over 45 minutes to get made

After going to The Palm for holiday tea for several years, Soho House at the Allis was a welcomed change to the chaos experience elsewhere. While a bit slow, the wait staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very enjoy afternoon with girlfriends at our desired pace in a comfortable environment. The sweet treats had great flavors, the tea was pleasant and the holiday themed cocktails very tasty. I plan to return next year.

The place was beautiful. However, I went for afternoon tea and the water was tepid. I ordered a side of fries that I saw sitting under the heat lamp for the longest before they were delivered to me at Luke warm temeperature. While I was watching my plate, I saw a staff member pass my plate twice and grab stray fries that had fallen off of the plate onto the counter and eat them!

I initially booked a reservation for the tea experience for 4. I had to “edit” the reservation (I did not book an entirely new one) from 4 to 2. The tea experience apparently does not transfer through the edit stage, and when I showed up - I was only booked for brunch. I showed the initial confirmation of 4 for the tea experience to Allis. They did check with the chef to see if there were any extra place settings to accommodate. We were told there were not. I understand that there may not have been. However, it felt there could have been more done to accommodate the error on a very sought after experience this time of year. Instead I was told this was “Open Table issue and not theirs”. I am sure Allis could have found a sandwich tower somewhere, put some apps on it, and made it *feel* like the tea experience, etc. Allis could have made more of an effort to combat the disappointment that was clearly on our faces. Regardless of this being an Open Table issue or not — Allis chooses to be on Open Table, therefore Open Table’s issues are your issues and your responsibility. Not impressed. Won’t be going back.
