You can’t beat this GORGEOUS dining room! Low light, candles, quiet. Always have the perfect prime rib. Still buffet style, until the kitchen is complete, should be April 2025. The the asparagus in February was divine as was the Caesar salad. Deserts a bit lack luster for me.

The buffet is overpriced for the quality and variety of food served. The desserts were the worst part, not edible and the restaurant management should be embarrassed serving them. The only saving grace was the historic dining room and great service provided by the staff. Unfortunately even with the wonderful service I cannot see myself ever eating there again.

Decent brunch, beautiful dining room. There wasn’t active construction going on over firefall weekend, but there were a few trailers obscuring some of the valley floor view. Could still see massive granite rocks. $10 validated valet parking (no self parking). Brunch ends at 10, so be sure to make Rez early enough. Food was solid not amazing but great ambiance and worth it for $32 for adults.

Very expensive buffet. Limited choice of food. Impressive dining hall but overall poor value for money.

Beautiful historic dining room almost empty on the rainy midweek morning we had breakfast there. The buffet was okay, but not amazing. Staff was friendly and efficient.

We had dinner in the main dining room. The room itself was stunning and historic. Absolutely beautiful. But then, we sat down to eat. The menu looked good, though buffet only. But the food was all cold! Possibly it was warm when it was set out a half hour earlier, but none of the serving stations were heated. A few items were fairly well prepared, such as the soup (brought to you, not on the buffet). Most other items were so-so or ruined. Service was pretty spotty, like the servers didn't quite know what to do, and this was a buffet! Very disappointed, given the hype the hotel gets, and the cost! If you must go to the Ahwahnee, try your luck at the bar.

For a room with such a reputation, the dinner buffet was disappointing. We had many wonderful meals here. This wasn’t one of them.
