   We had an excellent set of staff waiting on us and they were very attentive. The food all the way around excellent from the steak to the fish types, salads, and appetizers. That beet salad never fails to disappoint.. We had friends from out of town were wowed by how good the steaks and fish were. One thing we’ve learnt is we will never disappoint company bringing them here and we thank you for that

   Everyone was just lovely particularly to my 92 year old mother who’s birthday we were celebrating. Special thanks to our waiter Gabe and everyone in the kitchen who handled mom’s special needs with such grace. I truly appreciate it and hope to dine with you again soon.    We’ve had some amazing meals here but man was it off last night. The server was terrible. We had to ask for everything, wine list, to order apps, entres, wave him down for drinks and check. I almost never complain in restaurants and I had every intention last night but the restaurant host OR the server never came to the table after the servers brought the food. My expensive dry aged steak was very over cooked, two levels at least. App soup came out room temp at best. Hope it’s not a sign 😞

   The service at dinner Saturday was the worst we have ever experienced at Tchefuncte’s. I yeah the food was excellent as usual however it was almost lukewarm when served. t took us 55 minutes to get appetizers and it seemed as though the two waiters were not communicating with one another. They seem to be spending all their time on a few larger tables which I suspect would yield greater tips. I think both of them assumed the other person was tending to us, but we went long periods without anyone stopping by to check water or drinks, etc. If this was my first time dining there, I would think about going again. yeah the food was excellent as usual however it was almost lukewarm when served.

   The experience started out well and as soon as the place started getting busy, we never saw our service person. She was unaware as to what was going on with our table. Got the entrees more than two hours from when we got seated and about 75 minutes after ordering - after we ordered drinks and a few starters. Pasta with braised pulled pork was stone cold, halibut plates were very nice and tasted good but dry. We’ve been several times including just drinks and food at the bar. Something seems to have slipped with this restaurant. It wasn’t the best experience.

   The food and service are always top notch. I have an 8 year old son and he loves getting dressed up and going to eat here. His go to is the meatball tartine, the lasagna bolognese and the liquid nitrogen ice cream. The staff are always very kind to him and treat him so well. After moving to the north shore from New Orleans, it was a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant that not only matches the quality of food found in New Orleans, but in my opinion exceeds the quality of many of the famous restaurants. I cannot praise this restaurant and their staff enough.
