VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners, David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff's, travels throughout Greece, where they acquired a newfound appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their trip, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop's Fulton Market neighborhood and now brings the Greek Cuisine and world renowned superstar Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos to the Western Suburbs.

    Great ambience and the food was delicious! To start we got the hummus with vegetables and pita bread and the crispy zucchini and eggplant. For the main dish, I got the Greek Roasted Half Chicken. I never eat leftovers but in this case I made an exception and had to bring home what I didn’t eat. Highly recommend. Also, a must get is on the dessert menu: Bougatsa (crispy pillows, cinnamon ice cream, semolina custard, honey caramel) heaven in a bowl.

    It was excellent but we were surprised that after being asked sparkling or still water upon sitting down (and having different choices) we were charged $16, $8 for a bottle of still and $8 for a bottle of sparkling!

    The first time we came over a year ago, we left because no server came to our table after 25 min. This time our server, Mike, was wonderful. Prompt, attentive and great recommendations. He made the dinner a great experience! We also loved the food! Village salad, meat balls and gyros were great. The only reason why I’m giving four stars was the incredibly loud music. It was like being in a club. While it was “energetic,” it was so hard to talk without shouting at each other and it took away from the experience. Next time I will request a seat outside.

    Came on a Saturday night and was seated promptly on the outdoor patio, there were nice heaters above us that made it very comfortable. Darwin was our server and he was amazing! Everything was brought out at a timely and appropriate manner. We ordered the meatballs and tzatziki a la carte dips, the meatballs were so soft and savory they melted on my palate, accompanied by a delicious tangy tomato sauce. For mains I got the Beef Souvlaki and it was exceptional.

    First time here and went for a date night and the food and service was great. Next time I'd like to eat in the restaurant but we were seated in the extension (still a good experience though). Highly recommend the Pastitsio! Our server (Nelson) was really helpful and provided great service. We can't wait to go back!
