   The food and the service at the table were exceptional. The only thing that ruined our night was the bartender who served us while we waited for our table at the bar. I have never experienced this much rudeness before. He started by making fun of my husband’s accent when we ordered our first drink. A while later he was preparing another drink and splashed alcohol in my eyes. When I tried to tell him what had just happened he laughed in my face and said “hahaha nice”. I told him no it was not nice to have alcohol splashed in your eyes. He didn’t seem to really care and just turned his back and kept on laughing. We had to move to the other end of the bar in order to not leave before experiencing the amazing food. A place of this level should not have someone like this working at the bar where customers have their first interaction.

   Everything was amazing. The portions are small, but filling very decadent. Great service I recommend.

   The food is really inspired. I’m gonna try and mimic the tuna with Brazil nuts of all things.

   Our server from Serbia was so great, very informative with suggestions and each dish’s ingredients and attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding!

   I’ve been waiting for 23 years to come have lunch again at Sweet Basil. Loved it. Really inventive flavors and wonderful service and ambience. My son had the duck Ramen Bowl which was the standout. Calamari and Tuna were great too.

    Everything was top notch. The French onion lasagna and the lamb are both an absolute must. We were celebrating a birthday and Craig took great care of us. We will definitely be going back and recommending Sweet Basil to anyone staying in Vail.
