   Always go to sushi Ota every time I am in San Diego ! It's the best! San Diego local uni is such a treat

   I remember this places years ago- it was San Diego’s #1 sushi restaurant. The pieces of nigiri fish trailed long past the rice! Amazing huge pieces! It was small and intimate. You felt honored to be there. Now, I got the smallest pieces of fish on my nigiri I’ve ever seen! And I had to spit a little bit of the Japanese Wagyu Beef nigiri out. The server only brought one little wasabi for our table of six. They expanded the restaurant, and it didn’t feel the same. It wasn’t the same in any way, shape or form. I won’t be back. And I’m sad for the loss of the SushiOta of yesterday year.

   We've come here for the sashimi on my husband's bday a few times. It's the best he's had and truly a cut above. Make a reservation. The location is ... the back parking lot of an apartment building. The inside is cosy and the wait staff is on it.

   Had an excellent time at Sushi Ota. Got the Belly Sampler, Crunch Salmon Roll, Double Double Yellowtail and Salmon Belly Nigiri. Everything was awesome, service, food, drinks and vibe. My fav sushi spot in San Diego by far.

    You can’t find better tasting sushi in San Diego. But service is getting gradually worse.
