    Making a reservation does not guarantee you will be seated on time or that you will be seated in the right area. We waited over an hour just to be told they were out of half of the food we wanted before we finally left.

    Understanding it was Valentine’s Day… Service was lacking. We were brought to our hibachi table and not one person acknowledged a table of eight for over 30 minutes. I had to get up until the hostess that no one had come our way… And when we got a waitress, she did not seem enthused to be there.. We had to ask for water to be refilled. The restaurant was less than clean. But the food was really good

    430 reservation but not seated until 5. No explanation of long wait. Food was just ok. Salty and just mediocre. Hostess was rude at table.

    I was very disappointed in the food. The food was not good and it had no flavor. The service was good and the employees were friendly. It is definitely not worth the cost to have the hibachi experience.

    Our waiter, Eric, was absolutely amazing! He made the dining experience memorable and deserves a raise for his stellar service. The chef was great and made our food exactly as requested. Sumo’s is the best Hibachi restaurants in Columbia! Keep up the great work.

    There are new owners and no one told us. Only reason we found out was because I asked about the appetizer shrimp that they usually serve as well as the sherbet after you eat. Both times I was told they don’t do these any longer because of the new owners. Very lame. This location has gone down tremendously. I will not be returning here again.
