Once again, another great meal at Sulmona with delicious specials, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. We are never disappointed when we eat there.

The ambience and service at Sulmona is excellent. We were seated promptly, loved the decor, and had a truly wonderful waitperson. The food, however was mixed. We split a beet salad (a daily special), and it was wonderful. Lovely red and golden beets, arugula, pepitas, and other things that escape me. For a main dish, we ordered a fall pizette (another daily special), asking the guanciale to be left off as I'm a vegetarian, and a gnocchi dish with roasted vegetables. Again, the gnocchi was excellent. However, the pizette was disappointing, with a sparse scattering of squash, and not really enough of the sauce (mixture of bechamel and pumpkin puree) to balance out the flatbread. Maybe it would have been better with the guanciale. Finally, the tiramisu was disappointing. There was one partial ladyfinger soaked in coffee (as it should be) buried in marscapone with a light dusting of cocoa, and two completely dry ladyfingers inserted in the top.

Made a last minute brunch reso when line at cafe Luna was too long. We had porchetta hash, salmon Benedict and tiramisu French toast. All ok but nothing outstanding.

Not too crowded- service was prompt and friendly, and food / drinks delivered timely manner. Food was more than enough for us .

Very disappointing. There was a huge group taking up a good portion of the restaurant. The service definitely suffered as a result. The antipasti was nice with lots of options yet only 4 crackers. The fried artichokes were spotty. Some were good others were tough. We had 3 different pastas. The carbonara was watery and tasteless. The past with clams was a little better. Nice clams but not a ton of flavor. The bolognese was definitely the best. Nice wine pours. The donuts were good but a little heavy. Overall very expensive and not very good!
