From the OpenTable editors: Originally from Torreon, Mexico, Eater Austin’s 2018 chef of the year and 2024 James Beard semifinalist Fermín Núñez celebrates his passion for handmade masa at Suerte. It’s the foundation for tacos, tostadas, and more stuffed with everything from duck carnitas to goat barbacoa and drizzled with a host of salsas. True to laidback Austin, it’s all served in a space with light woods and exposed brick walls alongside plenty of mezcal cocktails and natural wine.

    Get ready, Austin! We’re throwing a GRAN pachanga to celebrate 7 years of Suerte—and you know we’re doing it big! Think super lineup of guest chefs, DJs, puro desmadre, y muchos tacos. Two bars, raffle prizes,exclusive suerte anniversary merch y puro good vibes all night long! The pachanga starts at 4pm and ends at 9pm with chefs going live each hour (See below for schedule). Tickets are $100 each and include: access to the entire taco lineup (while supplies last) and two complementary cocktails featuring our friends, Lalo Tequila, as well as access to our lounge and DJ areas, curated by Party at the Moontower rentals.     This place is consistently incredible. We were seated promptly since we had made a reservation. My husband and parents-in-law came to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Our waiter, Julian, was awesome. Julian was attentive, helpful, and had a great sense of humor! The patio was perfectly set up and the temperature was great. The food was absolutely amazing as it always is here. We got the barbacoa, suadero tacos, duck flautas, guacamole, and carnitas. Every single thing was, as my MIL said, "Consistently amazing and perfectly executed at every level." We also got some desserts that were INSANE! The choco taco was a favorite, but the tres leches cake and cinnamon ice cream were also awesome. This is a gem in Austin, and this city is lucky to have such a fantastic place to enjoy.

    We enjoyed Suerte on my birthday last year so much, we returned this year. The food is creative and delicious, and the setting uniquely Austin. Suerte is a must for both Austinites and visitors!

    Nice enough but too many dishes priced over $40 which should have been $30. Not distinctively delicious, skilled or unique enough at that price point

    We had reservations for noon but we were 50 minutes early. They were able to squeeze us in! The menu was Sunday brunch style. The server suggested that we get three plates to share that turned out to be perfect. The suadero tacos were outstanding as was the sweet papas. The homemade guacamole was outstanding of this world. Thanks Phil Rosenthal for the suggestion! Somebody Feed Phil sent us! :-)

    Ordered Suadero Tacos and a Steak. Tacos were great. The steak was very tough and gristly. The server seemed pretty busy so she did the bare minimum. I'd come back just for the tacos.
