Enjoy unapologetically authentic Thai food in the East End. All food is made from scratch by native Thai chef and James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Texas Benchawan Jabthong Painter.

Chef Benchawan and her husband—who also spend time in their Bangkok home each year—have painstakingly built out a restaurant that would fit into Bangkok’s hip Thong Lor neighborhood, but they have located it in Houston. Expect trendy Thai vibes, music, strong cocktails and an adventurous wine list to accompany Chef Benchawan’s acclaimed dishes.

When booking your reservation, all children—regardless of age—must be included in the head count. The largest party Street to Kitchen can accommodate is 6 people. If more than 6, you can arrange a private Thai tasting menu, including a minimum spend. Please contact us via email at eatthai@streettokitchen.org.

It’s a confirmation of what we all know about Street Kitchen, absolutely the best in the City and The State. Brought my wife in and we can’t stop raving about this beautiful place.

The food and service was really good. Top level. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the loud techno music playing in the background, which we found quite bothersome.

My supper club will do a more thorough review, however this was a true experience at a crazy affordable price. The staff is the most impressive wait staff I can remember in Houston, a mix between charismatic, educated on dishes, their history and inspiration, and able to make recommendations while never interrupting. Hats off to the chef - this menu was creative, folksy, eclectic, top quality ingredients and balanced in terms of variety, sides and protein. If you don’t do spice, I won’t lie to you; this is not a spot for you. The music is fantastic. I couldn’t tell you what was playing but I remember catching a beat and someone telling me it was Korean rap that was playing. Great vibe. Stand out dishes (from the omasake tasting menu): piña colada (beverage best you’ll ever have), chive pancake, fried branzino, scallop crudo, all the curries, lamb shank, papaya salad, coconut ice cream with fried garlic and caviar (favorite bite of the night). The tai drink was my favorite. If you’d like to drop $100 on a drink with a story - order the gin that comes with caviar amuse-bouche. Random other info - only negative in the entire evening - the bathrooms are outside the restaurant as in shared by the multi-use building it’s within. I went to the bathroom and another space had a party. That party was having too much fun and vommed all over the bathroom, at 8pm. But no fault of the restaurants. There is valet parking for $10. They accept Zelle or Venmo. Must go!

This was my second visit to STK but was my first visit for dinner. Drinks & food were all outstanding. Chef G creates amazing food & everyone who works there is extremely helpful & friendly. All the dishes we had were wonderful, but the Bronzino was a standout! Am going back in a few weeks with out of town family coming for the Rodeo. Can’t wait!
