   We had reservations for 7pm but came in earlier around 5:30ish and were accommodated in 15 minutes. We were able to catch happy hour and tried the oysters, truffle fries, and onion rings. We also ordered the surf and turf from the main menu. The oysters were very good - they were east coast ones. It seemed dry but still tasty. The fries we also good. The onion rings had a bit too much batter for my taste but I can see how people enjoy it. I asked the filet to be medium rare but came out rare. Once I cut into it our waiter noticed it and said he’ll bring it back to cook it more. Came back perfect. The house steak sauce paired well with it. The shrimp were good also. We also had a bottle of red. Overall a great dinner.

   The garlic bread loaf they started me on was the bomb! I had a burger after that, but I couldn’t finish it. It was delicious, juicy, and done to my liking (medium well). But warning: you can anchor a boat with that burger! It would be best if you came to Stark’s on an empty or almost empty stomach; the Caesar salad I had before the burger was probably unnecessary (though it too was delicious), as it only helped fill me up before the burger even came. It’s important to know that the immediate vicinity around the restaurant is a bit sketchy, and it appears that there is only street parking. So be very aware of your surroundings around the restaurant, especially at night. I was staying at a hotel a short walk away, but I needed to be extra cautious. Overall, a nice gem in downtown Santa Rosa.

   After eating A5 wagyu in other steakhouses this was lackluster. The ribeye was basically half fat and gristle. The filet was decent but I’ve had better at Ruth’s Chris. The oysters were cooked to perfection but smelled like dead fish. The shrimp were overcooked and chewy. The drinks were good. Dessert was excellent. Our servers were perfection. For $300 I’ve had lots better lunches. I would go back for dessert and drinks, but we both got sick almost immediately after leaving.

   Excellent food and service! Love the old world charm of the dining room. The steaks are tender with your choice of sauces. All sides are extra. May be best to share a steak as the portions are very generous!

   Great food, great service and priced accordingly for the quality. The only complaint is the noise level. The noise level in the main dining room when full is overwhelming! You can’t have a normal conversation with your dining partner(s). On several occasions we’ve been unlucky enough to be seated near a group table that has had way too much alcohol and are shouting at each other. This makes what should be an enjoyable dining experience very unpleasant!!

   First time to try the prime rib. It was outstanding!! The scallops were large and very fresh. The seasoning was really good! The onion rings and broccolini were cooked to perfection. We couldn’t believe how fast the food came out of the kitchen. The service was superb. What more can we say, other than we can’t wait to return!!

    Seth our server was nice and attentive. The team he had working was there to help get up the dirty plates or replace silverware. Food was great. Had the porter house for two and shrimp cocktail and oysters
