   Wines are heavily overpriced. The appetizer salads we had (quince salad and the pear/endive salad) we were mixed on. pear salad came with red radiccio, not endive. Quince salad was not very tasteful. Otherwise the entrees.....lamb and the scallops were outstanding. Ldt's not even talk about the chocolate tartelette and the beignets which were both a fabulous way to end the evening. Best part of the evening was our server, Erik, who was professional while being so friendly and a wonderful conversationalist....so enjoyable and relaxing for us not to have a stuffy server who takes no interest in the client .

   Make sure you know whether you are sitting in their outside room. This was not communicated in the reservation. This was super cold and not something we will do again - paying a chunk for dinner to be cold the entire time ain’t cool. Super lame bummer.

   Amazing experience. The food was excellent. Part of our party was 45 late due to traffic and they accommodated us gracefully.

   We went with a group of 6 for a girls dinner and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was a great atmosphere and the service was excellent. It’s pricey, but you get your monies worth.

   Spruce is a SF institution with a great reputation, but the pris fixe $125 (?) menu was uninspired. The corn puree that accompanied the Hokkaido scallops overwhelmed with its sweet flavor. Radicchio salad's oily dressing lacked a distinctive flavor and the radicchio dominated the delicate roasted quince (really couldn't tell what we were eating -- came across as mild pear?). Duck breast and clam chowder were more successful. Cocktails were nice and <$20; wine was wonderful but circa $125 (Sonoma County pinot noir and 1/2 the price of the other option the sommelier brought us!). Ambience was much noisier than expected -- asked to move table away from the center of the room. Service was inconsistent and inattentive; not sure if the lead server ever asked us how things were going. First course arrived before we even finished our amuse bouches -- cocktails felt very rushed. And no inquiry about wine order -- we had to reach out and then wait for assistance. Lots of SF restaurants do better for a similar price.

   Birthday dinner. We were coddled the whole night. Everyone from our waiter to the sommelier and servers was superb! 2 courses were only ok… tagliatelle with white truffles was on the cold side, diminishing the overall flavor. Pear salad with blue cheese and frisée was average. Cauliflower risotto was fabulous! Lamb was very good! Wagyu beef very tasty. All sauce reductions were excellent.

    The place was very nice. The experience was good. The food was just ok. Nothing that I would recommend especially for the price and selection.
