New Year’s Eve!! Thank you for totally ruining a special meal at a special time of year!! We ordered an appetizer and asked for it to be served prior to the salads.. We never got it. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, when they served it, it was medium well.. How is that possible??? Did this restaurant meet my expectations?? I definitely expected more than Dairy Queen Quality so no, it did not meet my expectations at all!! Do not go to this restaurant, it is terrible!!! They should be embarrassed to advertised themselves as an upscale restaurant.. probably the worst restaurant I have ever gone to in my entire life!! Fire the Person in charge cooking the food.. Note, I did not say Fire the Chef, whoever they have there could not possibly be a chef!! that person belongs flipping Burgers at McDonalds… That’s the quality that person May be able to deliver.. Don’t go to this place, it is a waste and a disappointment!!!

I live in the neighborhood and was hearing mixed reviews and read the reviews. Decided to go so we would know. We were looking to do date night at an upper scale dining for New Years. So off to Speer’s to avoid driving. Overall it was a decent experience but not overwhelmed. It’s beautifully remodeled and has ambience. Service or more so their process needs refined. A little bit of training would turn it around. I would go back but not going to crave going there. We had reservations and were seated on time…3:30. Restaurant was Les than half capacity. We had appetizer and salads which were good. I had the prime bone in cowboy cut 26oz $89 ribeye with up charged onions and up charged Gargola Cream, sides of asparagus and au gratin potatoes. When the runner brought the entree’s I got the steak but not the onions, sauce or the au gratin potatoes. Told the runner meanwhile I waited for the items. It took 14 minutes (!) to see my waitress to flag her down. She apologized as she brought the onions/sauce. At 19 min after served, I got to eat my $100 steak the way I ordered. By then it was past its prime from excessive resting. The manager brought the au gratins which were comped along with desert on the house. He apologized and blamed my order issues on staff not showing up. Neither of us liked the au gratins. The sauce was watered down needed salt and a lot less garlic. It was presented nicely. Steak was about an 7.5 on my all time best steaks scale. My waitress was a pleasant person and was serving 3 tables. She wasn’t ready for this type of restaurant. Maybe Chili’s. I did observe 3 older waiter/waitress that were very attentive to their tables. They explained things about the meat quality, dry aging and the wagyu selection. Speer’s has potential to incredible if the leadership would tighten up the training with wait staff (ambassadors)and culture of service.

Service was good but food was ok for that price. Filet Crustini App was very tough. Steaks were tasty but a bit overdone.

Very nice steakhouse! Love what they’ve done with the place. Came here for a family member’s birthday and our server Andrew was very friendly. I got the crab cakes and thought they were great!
