Established in 1855, the Six Mile Pub is the Oldest Pub in BC. This beautiful property is located on the bank of Millstream which flows into Esquimalt Harbour. Centrally located within the Westshore of Victoria, next to the Galloping Goose Regional Bicycle Trail and the arterial Island Highway, the Six Mile Pub has served generations of local Victorians. The large menu features made-from-scratch Pastas, Breads and Desserts. Ingredients are sourced responsibly and thoughtfully and include herbs and vegetables from her own Culinary Garden and Apiary as well as meats and vegetables from neighbouring farms. Because menu items are prepared on-site with whole ingredients, the Culinary team is able to adapt recipes easily to accommodate special dietary needs while the menu already features Gluten Free and Vegan Options. The Bar features 22 craft-brewed ales and lagers from local, artisan breweries, including a House Lager and Pale Ale sourced from Russell Brewing Company, based in Surrey, BC.

Easy access and ample free parking. Nice variety of options on the lunch menu. Good food. Not overly crowded. Lunchtime atmosphere conducive to conversation. Thai soup, salad, and bread a good choice.

We'd heard great things and were excited to try this place out. It was... just okay. The good: Asian noodle/chicken salad was amazing. So flavourful The bad: Have never seen a smaller kid's meal. Literally 10 French fries on a plate w/ 3 tiny chicken fingers. (If your kid is 2 years old, maybe this is fine. Ours is 9 and we had to go to McDonald's afterwards) Awful wine list. For a pub that promotes BC grain fed beef and organic local chicken to then have no local wines is an odd choice. Really need someone to come overhaul that list. Overpriced for what you get. 5 chicken wings for $12 (I get that's restaurants these days I guess - still, not good value) Understaffed - server was run ragged, making all interactions rushed and frenzied.

We went for the $35 Dine Around Menu. The menus were laid on the table with no explanation - there were two of us and one of each menu in the stack. Our waiter was clearly busy, but he never told us this and he did not quality check. Other servers cleared our plates, but no one asked how things were or if we wanted more drinks. Dessert took 25mins. In passing, he said it would be right out. He was visibly frustrated when it wasn't out. When it finally came, we didn't have spoons. He dropped them off while he was leaning over and talking to another table. The panna cotta was not smooth - it had a weird rough texture (but there was no one to tell). He was at the table beside us but he went to walk by instead of asking if we wanted the bill...I had to flag him down. The first and second courses saved the meal.

Terrific service and delicious food made this my top spot for eating out while in Victoria. The French dip roast beef on a banh mi baguette was great, topped only by the lobster bisque. Wine lovers will enjoy the generous poor of BC wines. Loved our server, he was kind and witty and made the experience one to remember.

We had a reservation for Easter brunch when face painting event took place. We were late but the management were very accommodating, especially because the place was almost empty at the opening time. Got a table right beside the lady who was doing the face painting for kids. That was cute. I am assuming all adult food menu is exceptionally good; I had the lobster brunch (lobster and shrimp benny) and my partner had salmon brunch (westcoast benny); although the lobster and shrimp were undetectable (unless I got blind and tasteless meanwhile ha ha), overall the food was very good; hashbrowns were soft and not greasy and very tasty on top of that. On the other hand, my kid's mac and cheese were ...ordinary. I mean even the store made ones are better, my child took a bite and left it there. Such a disappointment. The server looked under pressure, as if preparing herself for a busy day. We understood. I am not the type to go dinner/ out to eat for smiles lol. She did check on us through our meal though. We did not spend too much time there, we ate, packed and left. The atmosphere is inviting and the place is clean. Still, I would have expected something more for that kind of price food wise but it's alright I guess. While I do recommend the place, I don't think I would go back there very soon.

The service on a Friday night was very good even with only one server taking care of the large area we were seated in. The food was very tasty, but very small portions. The coconut curry soup was the best I'd ever had. My partner ordered the meatballs from the Dine Around menu and that's exactly what he hot, 2 meatballs in a bit of sauce. Although delicious, not enough for meal. His dessert was tiny as well. I had the delicious artichoke risotto which was magnificent. My dessert was Creme Brule. It was just enough to finish off a very tasty meal. The meals were well presented and hot.
