   Matthew / Chef Nick / Alec were more than accommodating and provided and met any and every need that we had. Matthew made some excellent suggestions for dinner and mocktails that were very appetizing. Chef Nick - we thank you for assisting us upon arrival and showing us the Steak Knifes and making suggestion for the tour. Alec has done an excellent job with his team to make Sexy Steak a great place to eat / celebrate and enjoy a great meal in the City of Detroit.

   I recently returned to Sexy Steak to celebrate my cousin’s birthday, and while the experience had its highlights, there were a few letdowns that stood out. To start, we were surprised to find that the restaurant was out of several steak options—something quite disappointing for a steakhouse with a relatively limited selection to begin with. Fortunately, we opted for the Wagyu Tomahawk, which turned out to be a solid choice. The steak was flavorful and well-prepared, earning high marks. Overall, I’d rate the food a respectable 8/10. For dessert, we went with the New York cheesecake. While it was decent, I’ve definitely had more memorable versions elsewhere, so I’d place it around a 6/10. Service-wise, everything was just… fine. The staff was polite and attentive enough, but nothing about the experience felt particularly warm or personal. I later noticed that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added to our bill. Personally, I reserve that level of tipping for service that goes above and beyond, and in this case, the service felt more like a 15% experience. My main critique is this: for a high-end steakhouse, running out of steaks is hard to overlook. When your menu is built around premium cuts, maintaining availability should be a top priority. That said, I’d still consider dining at Sexy Steak again. But next time, I’ll definitely be calling ahead to confirm the steak selection. With a little more consistency, this place has the potential to truly impress.

   We went for my sisters 30th birthday and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere is so cool and the food was beyond amazing! The waygu pastrami is possibly the best thing on the menu we could have just ate that as our meals! Everyone enjoyed the steak, chicken, and fish and cooked perfectly! Compliments to the chef for such an amazing dinner!

   Had a 7p reservation on a Friday night, we were sat immediately. Our server, Hayley’s was perfect, gave us a chance to look at the menu, then went over it but wasn’t pushy, perfectly attentive I would say. The cocktails were great, smoked old fashioned for me, Marilyn Monroe for the Mrs. My wife and I split the oysters, each had a table side Caesar, then split the surf and turf. It ended up being the best dining experiences we’ve had.

   The ambience is great. Overall I would say it’s overpriced. I have no problem paying but I do want to feel the value. I’ve been there twice and it was about $200 per person. I just feel this is excessive. Also I ordered the filet both times and although it comes out as ordered (MR, M, etc) the plate is so hot that it quickly becomes over cooked. For $70, I would suggest they prepare as requested and ditch the whole 500 degree plate as both times my meat was over cooked. I also wasn’t impressed with the sommelier. He pushed himself on us all night to buy things. Never did we even request a sommelier.

    From the moment you step into Sexy Steak, you know you’re in for something different. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between sultry and sophisticated — dim lighting, modern decor, and a vibe that says this place is here to impress. It’s a bit noisy, probably the only downside. We went for our 31st wedding anniversary and couldn’t chat at the table because of the noise levels; definately tappered off as tables settled. The star of the evening? The steak, of course. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The steak literally sizzled for several minutes. Do your self a favor and order some zip sause. Each bite melted in my mouth, and the presentation was on point. But it’s not just about the meat — the sides and starters were equally memorable. The frito misto? Addictive. The caeser salad? Fresh and briny with a creative twist, and the 5 cheese mac and cheese was delicious. Cocktail game? Strong. The mixologists know what they’re doing, and the drink menu is just as bold as the food — innovative without being gimmicky. Service was top-notch. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and timed everything beautifully. Sexy Steak isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. Perfect for a special occasions!
