Chef and owners Aniello Bortone and Reth have worked in unison for the past 10 years across a number of Sydney’s most popular restaurants.

Hailing from the humble town of Aversa next to Napoli, Nello grew up watching his family make traditional Neapolitan dishes, this is where his love of food began.

Working alongside Reth, also a chef and the front face of Semola, his enthusiasm for impeccable customer service and quality ingredients shines through. The dynamic duo are an authentic representation of what it means to eat and breathe true Italian food.

Traveled all over and this is by far one of the best authentic Italian restaurants we have ever had. The bread was amazing. The pasta was perfect. Everything was fresh. The service was perfect. We were not sure when we got there but could not have been happier. Honestly it's a must, perfect neighborhood place to have a killer meal with not a lot of fuss.

The food is absolutely delicious. High quality food compared to other Italian restaurants. Only drawback is it's too popular and there's a time limit for dining for two hours making the whole experience a bit rush. Thank you

Starters are simple - olives and foccaccia - yummy and good value. Mains are mostly pasta dishes, but fresh and delicious. Desserts also nice - I had a lemon tart with citrus compote and sorbet. Fairly small dining, area so booking essential. A bit noisy, but not unusually so for Sydney. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit within a month and again the food was excellent. Really enjoyed it. The service was very good. It is very nice restaurant which I will be going back to often.
