We had an exceptional dinner and was so pleased we took overseas guests here . The food and service were outstanding and we cannot recommend this highly enough. It is not cheap but the value for such a special meal was there and we look for to coming back again and again . Spectate Peking duck and dumplings were amazing but so was all the food .

It was an overall good experience but it was a bit on the expensive side for what you got.

We had a really enjoyable experience at Secret Kitchen! The service stood out—everyone was super friendly, patient, and helpful in guiding us through the extensive menu. We ordered a fish dish along with the stir-fried broccoli and beef. The fish was incredibly fresh, paired with plenty of crisp snap peas and a few perfectly cooked mushrooms. Our server recommended the garlic and ginger preparation over the Szechuan version. It was flavorful, though I couldn’t help but wonder if the Szechuan option might have packed more of a punch. He did mention it was very spicy, so maybe it was for the best! The broccoli and beef dish, however, fell a little short. We ordered white rice expecting to soak up some sauce, but the dish didn’t really have much, and it leaned a bit greasy. Also, the broccoli was all stems rather than florets, though the flavor was still enjoyable. One standout feature was the impressive display of live fish tanks, showcasing fresh lobster, crab, and fish. It really added an authentic touch to the dining experience. Overall, we’re glad we went and would definitely recommend it when visiting Melbourne. While a few small things kept it from being perfect, the quality of the seafood, great service, and unique atmosphere make it worth a visit.
