   We are new to Grand Rapids and keep looking for new restaurants around town! So glad we found this place, it is our new top favorite. Everything we had was absolutely incredible! Will absolutely be coming back! Wedge salad- 10/10 Seasonal flatbread - 10/10 Steak, the Ribeye- 10/10 Bison Short Rib- 10/10 and even the potato cake alone was to die for!

   We had crab cakes, which were good but not outstanding...very little crab. Scallops were good, unique, nicely done, but not something I would return for. The Pear salad was ALMOST excellent. Lots of Pear, nuts and cheese. A little too much vinegar in the dressing.

   My wife and I had brunch at Scholar for our Anniversary on Sunday. Everything about the experience was amazing. Each member of the staff congratulated us on our anniversary and we were given a beautiful table upstairs next to a big window which was fantastic given the sun was out. Our server was terrific and the food was very good. Thank you for adding to our special day and we will be back!

   Finding a place that takes reservations in Grand Rapids for Sunday brunch is quite a challenge. Not wanting to wait in line for an hour at most of the better spots, we have pretty much quit going to brunch. Scholar has changed that! What a find! Varied menu, good service, good bar and atmosphere. My breakfast sandwich is among the best I have had, and my picky hubby was very satisfied with his benedict. The Great American Breakfast a friend ordered was huge! And tasty. This has definitely become our go to for Sunday brunch.

   The food was fabulous and our server, Seth, was outstanding! He was very well informed about the menu and drink options, and was very engaging and delightful to talk with.

   Very nice intimate location. The food was very good for the price and drinks were nice. Not sure why but upstairs was very chilly, so dress for that in the cooler months.
