   This is a mixed review. Friends recommended Scala to us, so we went to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant very thoughtfully left a birthday card on the table! Very classy. The noise level was off the charts, though. 2 large parties were seated behind us, at the front of the restaurant. They were screeching and yelling, the sound bouncing off the front windows. We could barely understand each other. Food: we had the snap pea and radish salad which was really good. The lasagna was tasty, but the pasta was really mushy. The waitstaff was awesome, we were well taken care of.

   Outstanding restaurant! It’s rare when a restaurant hits on all three- food/menu is excellent, service is next level and the vibe is perfect. Scala is a treasure for Napa and the surrounding areas!

   For 10 years I was an itinerant Napa transplant from Santa Monica making wine in Napa. Bistro Don Giovanni was my go-to. Then they outdid themselves with opening Scala in downtown Napa. Unparalleled excellence and a stellar menu of nothing but winning choices. Thank you!

   Food was ok but the service went downhill as it got busy. We had to ask several times for water, dishes to be taken and the bill. It was my husbands birthday and I told at least 3 people and he never got a birthday wish…
