    Super mixed experience. Our server was friendly and items came quickly and professionally. Yay! We sat outside … the ambiance wasn’t memorable, but the music was nice. Yay! But the food and drinks were epically bad. We ordered all over the menu and the consistent theme was “barely edible.” All cuts of fish were of an extraordinarily low quality, the duck in the duck bao buns was simultaneously bone dry and devoid of flavor, and even basic things like spicy edamame were a mess (wildly overcooked to the point of mush and smothered in tobacco sauce). The lobster “mousse” in the squash blossoms was the consistency of somewhere between jello and rubber. The drinks weren’t much better. The manhattan was decent (not great, not horrible … just decent) and I ordered a beer … which was served in a can … and it was warm … and served with a warm pint glass … for $14. I don’t mind paying $14 for a beer, but I at least expect it to have been refrigerated. This restaurant is just that bad. Sandfish markets itself as this hip, high end Japanese fusion restaurant. If you’re visiting from SF, NYC, Tokyo or Honolulu, prepare to be wildly disappointed.

    It was all good. The highlight of our dinner was the eel nigiri and the Koko signature rolls. This is our second time dining in so we came back again but we felt like they changed something on their menu.

    Food was delicious and patio was remarkably warm. DJ was very loud on a Saturday night (maybe to be expected) but not unbearably so. Omakase cocktails were a highlight as well as the tataki maki!

    Always a great places to go in Palm Springs. We tried the oysters and WOW are they great. Even though we’ve been there a dozen or more times, we never tried the Sandfish Roll. We did this time and it was great.
