   Saltbrick Prime was an amazing Christmas Eve dinner. Craft cocktails were delicious and their steak was amazing as always. We’re going to make this our new holiday tradition!

   We sat at the bar early on Christmas Eve. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We chose from the Primetime Prix Fixe menu: the shrimp cocktail had perfectly iced shrimp wit lovely cocktail sauce; the filet was expertly seasoned and cooked just right and the New York style cheesecake was delicious with lots of whipped cream and freeze dried raspberries (a very nice touch) And I’d be remiss if I didn’t say how good the cocktails were: the smoky Old Fashioned reminded me of sitting in front of a roaring fire and tasted great while my partner thoroughly enjoyed the Bananarama, which tasted like a cold version of “hot buttered rum”. It was a delightful evening and we will be returning soon! I forgot to mention the popovers that came before our meal started—they were outrageously good!

   Love having new option. A steakhouse is always a higher price point, thus expectation is higher. The venue was done well. Food was done well. If there was a 10-scall, I'd give this a 9 - SOLID. But to get a 10 it needs to be a "blow-my-socks-off" in all avenues.

   It’s too bad - this should be a successful restaurant but this is our third visit and the service just leaves too much to be desired. I’d overlook it usually but when you’re billing yourself as a steakhouse, entrees and drinks shouldn’t be forgotten and water shouldn’t sit empty for 20 minutes. Don’t know if they’re understaffed or under trained but I think this third trip will be our last.

   Steaks were not as expected. Wedge salad was good. Roasted mushrooms were tough if you can believe that. Waiter was excellent. But some of the key food, not good.

   A very unique dining experience … in the middle of nowhere in a Branford parking lot, this restaurant certainly outdid itself for ambience and service! The popovers were absolutely delicious! We ordered an 18 ounce 30-day aged porterhouse which was pretty good. It was a little fatty but may just be the type of cut. The server was so nice to tell us to share as the portions were huge! We also ordered grilled mushrooms which were amazing! The cheesecake wasn’t my favorite - too much cream cheese but the presentation was nice and they had good coffee. Overall, I would recommend if you’re in Branford and looking for a decent recent with nice ambience!

   Unfortunately the shrimp cocktail served to two of us in party had gone bad. They did apologize and removed the items from our bill. The server was great. He went out of his way to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

    This was an outstanding experience. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. Beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The service provided was excellent. The food was absolutely top shelf. Perfectly cooked filet mignon steak and a top level wine list. Absolutely amazing all the way around. We will return soon with friends. Highly recommended!
