   S&L Langley boasts a vibrant atmosphere with friendly staff. The food, however, wasn't as good as I remember. The calamari with rice flour was excellent, albeit small. My wagu carpaccio excellent save for the extremely small serving of crostini (so many holes I had virtually nothing to serve as a base for my wagu beef). My husband's Miso Salmon was overcooked to the point of dryness. Having made numerous trips to Peru, I can honestly say the Pisco Sours were flat and certainly lacking the punch of a 'made-in-Peru' specialty. Seems S&L Langley might want to pay a bit more attention to their end product!

   Dark, rainy night and not a single light on in the parking lot. Got seated and then the lights turned down. We could not read the menu without pulling out flashlights. I do like to see the food I am eating. Way too dark.

   The service as amazing. Krystal was very friendly and attentive. The only problem is when we got there we were seated seperatly from our friends. It took forever to get our food. I was bumped into a few times when other people were movie chairs around the restaurant as they had us in the middle of the room. I felt like we were in the way. When I got my food it was not warm but I ate it anyways as our 7:30 reservation turned into a 9:30 dinner time. I wasn’t sure why it took so long to get our food. It wasn’t very busy in there either.

   It was a strange weather day with high winds and power outages. Even though the staff computer was affected Kristal called us to let us know the power was out. Then when the power was restored about 5 hours later Kristal let us know. We were seated directly and enjoyed our evening. There were a few hiccups, I’m sure it was very stressful for all the staff but everything was handled gracefully and with humour. A lovely evening.

   Service was excellent and every part of rhe meal was cooked perfectly. The filet was perfect medium rare.

   Great birthday dinner, with a complementary dessert… but the cookie was almost too sweet to eat. The restaurant is very dim— too dark to read the menu.
