Venture down our private elevator and be transported back in time to a presidential lounge filled with delectable dishes and unforgettable libations fit for Teddy himself.
Enter the lobby through the glass doors located in the alley to the northeast and down the middle elevator to the basement.

We came for the cocktails, but it was the food that impressed us the most. The duck was luscious, the pasta was otherworldly, the shrimp cocktail is heavenly. The roasted potato and artichoke with whipped mascarpone starter was the perfect way to start the meal. I loved all of the cocktails, but the “Happy Birthday Mr President” was my favorite. I love the ambiance and the speakeasy-vibes. Service was absolutely impeccable. We’ve dined here at least 5 times and have never been disappointed.

Since you get the decor and ambience gets you in a good mood, the drinks are spectacular and the food was amazing and on top of everything great service. So it’s not a brainer to get back

This place is amazing and really sends you back in time! The drinks are well crafted and the food is delicious, especially their fresh oysters which I couldn't get enough of! Definitely my new go-to spot in Phoenix!

What a fabulous experience! Chris was an exceptional waiter, super knowledgeable and helpful with food & drink menu questions. The cocktails were delicious and elegantly unique. There were three in our party and we all shared plates & sampled drinks. The chicken was juicy, pork chop tender, generous crab portion served with Noble bread toasted to perfection - couldn’t improve on a thing.

My husband and I visited Rough Rider because it looked intriguing on OpenTable. When we arrived and went downstairs, the decor was unique and gave a speakeasy feel. We sat at the bar and had two cocktails, which were delicious and unique. I highly recommend the Happy Birthday Mr. President. For dinner, we shared the crab dip and pork chop. The pork chop was the most delicious chop I’ve ever had. Both the meat and the sauce that it was served with were incredible. It was also nice that the chop had been sliced for us in advance.

Our drinks weren’t our favorite, but may be still amazing for someone else. But I loved the atmosphere. It WAS a bit loud at first, but it was also packed when we arrived. We both moved over to an old fashioned after our first round of drinks, and they were great. The pork chop was outstanding, as was the pasta! Will definitely be back!
