A favourite with the townspeople, who use it variously as a watering-hole, The Rose & Crown is the place for a spot of lunch or a celebration dinner. Winning several national awards including being twice named in the Top Ten UK pubs in the last few years, The Rose & Crown also won Britain’s Best Brigade in 2017. We serve food all day, along with top-quality draught beers and have a carefully chosen wine list. Our thirteen en-suite B & B rooms have all the little comforts you’d find at home, popular for business and leisure stays.

We had a lovely meal on Saturday night. 2 of us dined off the Christmas menu which was lovely, and 1 off three usual menu. The food was all really good. One of the starters hadn’t been heated proper,yet but this was dealt with quickly. Great atmosphere too.

Clean and tidy bar area which is where we sat (high table) friendly staff and tasty Sunday roast with delicious extra yorkshires.
