Nominated by Food and Wine Magazine as best chef southwest and 4 time winner of the Houston Iron Fork competition, Roost is slowly standing in a class of its own. With accolades like winner of the Food Networks Beat Bobby Flay and competing on Guy's Grocery Games, local Chef Kevin Naderi loves developing global flavors and serving his hometown.
Roost’s 50-seat space is cozy and unpretentious, amid walls paneled with old shutters and Edison-like light fixtures. Roost’s rustic and diverse menu is revised every five weeks, inspired by local availability of farm-fresh seasonal ingredients and flavors of the world, including the American South, Asia, and from the Middle East, taking advantage of Chef Naderi’s Persian heritage.
With over 13 years of serving Houston, we are proud to be a delicious option for our incredible city, and we truly looking forward to giving you a casual- fine dining experience.

The food was really tasty without being overly complicated. The bread service (a giant pretzel) and cauliflower were our favorite. Our server was also super attentive and made us feel immediately welcome!

Thought we would try some place new, and sometimes you choose wrong. Service was poor, wine was 2 days old and tasted like it. Short ribs, polenta was barely warm, and it tasted like BBQ sauce had been poured over it. Squid my wife ordered was a chewy. Atmosphere is like a diner. Cannot recommend, and won’t be back.

Farm to Fork expressed with creativity in a neighborhood setting. Impressive creativity is reimagined every 6 to 8 weeks in a revised menu. This is a place you’ll want to add to your rotation because while it’s always a good experience, the the menu constantly evolves. Service is very friendly and informative and lines are discounted on Monday night.

This intimate restaurant located in the heart of Montrose never fails to shine. The bread service is worth a trip all by itself. It's so nice to be able to have a conversation without having to shout. Our waiter was most pleasant and attentive without being overly so.

I brought friends from out of town, three of which were gluten-free. Their menu offered so many gluten-free options. Everyone commented what a gem Roost is and look forward to coming back again. The service is always impeccable, but not intrusive. truly a wonderful and special time at Roost

I have an extremely rare food allergy and the restaurant, chef, and waitress went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I felt safe. Food was absolutely incredible and well priced.

It's been a few years since we've been to Roost, it used to be with our family, it would be hit or miss to get in. Now with reservations as an option know we can get a table. I'm so glad we decided to go here! The service was top-notch. The food was delicious, better than I remembered. Everything was cooked perfectly. The flavors are interesting yet still feel like Grandma would make. With 30% off of wine on Monday and Tuesday it's a great deal, especially since wines are reasonable to begin with. Shout out to our server Abby for a great wine recommendation and also a general excellent demeanor. We'll be back for sure!
