   Roma offers very good food for the value. What we had for dinner was very good, Spaghetti al Limone and the Rigatoni alla Norma were both very tasty. Unfortunately, I ordered meat ball with the Spaghetti and when the Spaghetti arrived at the table, NO MEATBALL! We had to flag a waiter and remind him to bring the meatballs, which arrived a few minutes later. I always feel skeptical when a waiter does not write down the order, or repeats it back to you when not writing it. We started with the Caprese salad, which has a different twist, cherry tomatoes on the vine with mozzarella cheese balls, a unique twist and good, but again the plate came with the server providing no serving to serve the dish. We had to ask. When we finished the appetizer, the busboy was not watching as he knocked a fork from one plate to the other. The staff response to your requests but these were things that can be easily avoid. Perhaps parties of two are not welcome I thought, but there were three other parties of two there. Was it our attire? Heck, who knows. The one gal who took our wine order was efficient. We'll try other Italian options at Rice Village next time.

   Houston boasts an incredible restaurant scene—Roma, unfortunately, is not part of it. Our evening began with a lackluster Negroni, its oxidized sweet vermouth clashing with sad little ice chips. Then came the octopus salad: while the octopus itself was properly seasoned, the accompanying vegetables were an afterthought. If you've ever wondered how completely unseasoned potatoes and tomatoes taste, Roma has you covered. The main course arrived… but our cutlery did not. We watched our food cool for ten minutes before finally being able to eat. And yet, the worst part of the experience wasn’t the food—it was the service. No apologies, no efforts to make amends, just constant interruptions to our conversation and an eagerness to rush the check. If only they had shown the same enthusiasm for, say, offering us a wine list or ensuring we had utensils. If the staff believes this is acceptable service, they must be operating under some serious delusions. Maybe one day, my wife and I will laugh about this experience. At this point, we kind of have to.

   Our server Tony was great company! Friendly and welcoming service, romantic ambience, awesome wine selection. Food was ok, the appetizer salads (caprese and octopus) saved the whole meal but for a late evening reservation on Valentine’s Day it’s excusable. Overall great experience great vibes, wish the portions were bigger and a bit more fresh.

    This little place was amazing and we all loved our meals. Salmon, mushroom ravioli, and the fettuccini. All fresh and some made table side. It was wonderful!
