   This place was highly recommended but we found it mediocre. It was very loud upstairs and the main waiter was not that attentive or enthusiastic. Sort of brusque. Other staff that popped in and out were friendly. The lamb stew was delicious but the turkey plate had been sitting under the warmer for so long that the juice/gravy was completely dehydrated and dried onto the plate. Neighboring table had the same thing so it wasn’t just us. Meringue roulade was soggy and the fruit was so little so not enough tartness to balance the sweet. Was sort of a sugary and creamy mess with no texture. So the food, other than the lamb pie, was disappointing, especially considering the price.

   Reliable and steady menu. Nothing too exciting but a good meal nonetheless. Service a bit haphazard but it was a hectic December Saturday

   Waited over 30 minutes for table Menu very condensed Side plates for bread but never offered any Saw other tables being offered some Quality of food nothing like I am used to getting in this restaurant Definite lack of staff Disappointing Christmas meal out

   Menu limited and traditional but the food quality was excellent nice place but didn’t like where we were seated in a booth in an alcove - difficult to get the servers attention - and the opposite booth had a noisy mother and child

   We celebrated a graduation here on Friday evening and it was a wonderful experience. Every single staff member we encountered were friendly and helpful and the lady who looked after our table was outstanding . The food was amazing and the ambience and atmosphere was fabulous . Thank you we will definitely be back

   It was so disappointing. We booked as a special birthday dinner for our twin’s 18th. The staff hurried us through service even interrupting our present opening to move us along. No mention of the birthday (even though we i noted it on the reservation). Zero friendly service - nothing about the menu, how we were, like nothing. We used to come here for our special dinners but it has changed. Needless to say, we promised the kids a redo since the vibe was so bad. Ug.

   The table where we were sitting was very draughty. My teenager boys ordered a steak each from the A la carte menu which was €41 each. This was accompanied by a small circular mound of mashed potatoes. We had to order chips and vegetables as extras which made each plate very expensive. That said, the steaks were excellent .

   Excellent experience overall. Hadn’t been there for several years & it’s as good or better than ever. Good food. Lovely staff and nicely busy dining room upstairs.

    Definitely one of the best restaurants in Dublin - especially for Sunday lunch. Cannot fault Roly's it was perfect
