We went to Rod N' Reel years ago for a buffet dinner, and the entire place, including the buffet, has drastically changed. It is no longer a cozy atmosphere on the water- it's a megaplex with a massive ugly concrete parking garage blocking the view of the water from the main road and digital slot machines with sad-looking suckers playing them as far as the eye can see. It looks like whoever owns it sold out to commercial interests without a care in the world about the community or general decency. It is really a blight on Chesapeake Beach...so sad. The dinner was adequate at best. The food was similar to what I would expect from Bob Evans. Not bad, not great. There were just the basics...nothing special. The dinner took place in a generic conference room, so the ambience was just adequate as well, with slot machines right outside the door. For $63 a person...definitely not worth it. I will definitely never go back there for any event.

A lot has changed with Rod N Reel over the years. It was great to see them put on a holiday buffet even while the usual location is under construction. The buffet was wonderful and perfect for people who did not want to cook, clean or host.

We were first 2 in for Thanksgiving dinner. Food was COLD the Turkey was a processed turkey not real and there was real turkeys sitting on carving table. Ham was like ham in a deli At price paid we should have been offered sodas but, were only offered tiny cups of tea and lemonade and water. Hot coffee and Hot Teas

The Thanksgiving buffet was not worth $63. The atmosphere was loud and, in my opinion, the food quality didn't just justify the price. Also felt rushed.

This was the Thanksgiving Buffet and the food was wonderful! I wish it wasn't quite as expensive, because I felt like I couldn't eat enough to get my money's worth, but the food was amazing enough to help make up for that!

We went for Thanksgiving and everyone was so nice and kind! The food was delicious! We weren’t physically able to eat enough food for the price of each plate especially with the kid that eats like a toddler. Next time I will see if we can choose toddler for the ten year old lol. He did love everything but just nibbled as kids do sometimes. But I guess it was worth it since the husband played some slots and won enough to cover the bill! But everyone was absolutely amazing! So nice and helpful.

The food took awhile to come to our table. The crab dip had NO lump crabmeat visible in it, but had spinach? The fried fish was very dry. Took over 15 minutes to run my payment card. No valet parking attendant was available upon arrival , we had to park in the parking garage and walk. Made using a cane an experience.

The new layout offers very little dining room seating. It's mostly catering to the casino crowd at the moment. Before there was a huge buffet in the back room. They need to separate the casino from what was a very popular dining destination.

Service was extremely slow. While others were getting bread, we waited 40 minutes for our appetizer. Drinks sat empty for a while, steers they were wrong in the first place. The medium steak was well done. The a imperial crab was a little bit of crab with a glob of mayonnaise on top. Fried chicken my son got was tasty but greasy as could be. The manager did, however, take care of it by removing everything down to the amount of the deposit.
