   The ambiance and decor of the restaurant was nice and seasonal when I arrived. I’m from the west coast and really liked the holiday vibes. I showed up a bit early for my 7 p.m. reservation and decided to hit the bar 20 minutes ahead of time. The bar service was fine, though the initial bartender seemed disinterested. The female bartender was nice, though. At 7 p.m., I approached the hostess stand to check in. I greeted her and, to avoid any confusion with a similarly sounding last name, I clearly spelled mine out and mentioned that it begins with an “S.” Her curt response, “I know how it’s spelled,” left me feeling unwelcomed. Given the less-than-ideal table offered for the reservation —situated right by the front door—I decided to cancel my reservation. Instead, I walked to a restaurant just down the block. Though the meal there was double the price, the welcomeness and hospitality was far superior and worth the cost. In hindsight, it was absolutely the right decision.

   The service was great. The manager was on point and visited the table several times. The food is very good but a bit overpriced. Drinks were delicious. The atmosphere was lively. We enjoyed our visit to Ritual House.

   Overall ambience and food was good, but we had a major issue. After being asked about food allergies and responding that one guest had nut allergies, our table was served our first appetizer. After we began eating, the server dashed to our table to say that the dish contained nuts. Our guest left the table and made herself sick to rid the allergen. We had several visits from the manager and server within confusing explanations of whether the dish did or did not have nuts. Our guest obviously did not enjoy the experience and the manager did not respond with any substance. A different guest ordered a dessert and they offered to comp the dessert. When the bill came, there was a charge for the dessert. Our wine order was also billed incorrectly. After letting our server know, the charge for dessert and one glass of wine was removed. We enjoy dining out as a family and do not look for problems for compensation, but given the serious nature of the issue and the lack of response, we will not be returning to Ritual House.

   Our Brunch was great as always. We were sad that they had run out of the holiday cocktails but the food was very good.

   Excellent brunch, menu selections were creative, service was excellent and prices reasonable. Can’t wait to return!

   We had a party of 6 aged 13 to 73 for a Sunday brunch. Our experience from start to finish was fantastic. Bruleed orange and grapefruit and smoked salmon apps were phenomenal as were the cocktails. Entrees were also great. Our server noticed a few of us gawking at a cotton candy skewer that was served to another table and brought us one as part of our dessert just to be nice. The whole experience was top notch. We will definitely be back.
