Red Salt Room mixes signatures of renowned chef David Burke like the clothesline bacon and his patented use of Himalayan salt to dry age steaks, with Executive Chef Anup Patwal's intricate seasonal New American menu. Awarded the American Academy of Hospitality Science's "Five Star" Diamond award, Red Salt Room will transport guests to the kind of luxury and elegance they have come to expect from The Garden City Hotel.

Dress Code: tastefully casual. No hats, sweatpants, tank tops, crop tops, flip-flips, open toe shoes on gentlemen, or pool/gym attire. Hoodies are allowed, but hoods must be worn down.

For parties of 8 or more, a $50 deposit per guest is required, and will be redeemed on the date of the reservation.

    Fantastic dinner. Food is always top notch. The dry age strip was perfect. The scallops were beautifully presented. The service however is why we will always come here. From the hostess, Kayla, who made sure to stop by our table and welcome us back even though she was busy with other people to the server and busser Nick and Douglas who are so attentive. Can’t wait to come back.

    First time having brunch at the Garden City Hotel. We were celebrating our anniversary and it really was special. We were greeted with big smiles from friendly hostesses. Although it’s a buffet and you get the food yourself, the service was impeccable. Our water glasses were constantly being filled. Our napkins were folded every time we came back to the table after going to get more food. Our dirty dishes were removed from our table promptly. The servers were friendly and attentive. Nice selection of drinks that were refilled as much as you like. The amount of food was not to be believed. All kinds of breakfast foods, including crepes and omelets. An amazing seafood station of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, lobster and crab claws. A large variety of salads, hot dishes and sushi. A carving station of prime rib, cooked perfectly. The desserts were decadent. Everything was delicious. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Many might say it’s expensive but you really get your money’s worth, the food is quality. The perfect way to spend a special occasion.

    We love to meet with friends and enjoy a Pre Christmas celebratory dinner Our server “ Nichols” was friendly, professional and efficient He made recommendations, and had our food timed prefectly. The dishes, as always so well prepared, savory,elegantly presented. Always try to order out of the box sort of speak The mushroom pâté was sumptuous. We always have a delightful time and look forward to the new dishes. “ Jose Luis” is an exceptional person. He always goes out of his way for us. We are grateful

    Very disappointed by Sunday experience. The room looked dull , and is noisy. The food was mediocre, and the cocktails included in the brunch were water down. One saving grace is that the staff is accommodating..

Chef David Burke’s signature 28-day Himalayan Salt Dry-Age Process is a hallmark of our steaks, which are crafted using only top prime cuts to deliver exceptional flavor and tenderness. Regarding the water and bread service, as is standard in fine dining restaurants, still and sparkling water is charged accordingly. Bread service with pricing is clearly noted on our menu to ensure transparency. It is always advised to let us know if you are not satisfied with any items so we have the chance to offer something that is more to your liking, especially as you expressed satisfaction to your server. We hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.

    A tale of 2 extremes. The bacon torched table side was a real treat and the pumpkin soup in a pumpkin was delightful. But the dried out turkey and ham was not good and a mix of great sides and disappointing ones abound. The steak was top notch as always but the apple cake dessert was terrible. The service was excellent although it was slow meal spacing between courses It was empty for thanksgiving as we expected a lively crowd but sparse seating made for a subdued atmosphere. I hate the new black and white art as it detracts greatly from the old world charm of the mahogany trim. All in all it was over 1200 for 5 people and was not worth the hype.

    Celebrated Thanksgiving at this first-class fine-dining restaurant and it did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The food and wait staff were impeccable, even on a holiday during which there were three seatings scheduled. The pumpkin bisque, which started the meal, had a show-stopping presentation - it was in a small white pumpkin surrounded by autumn leaves. The rest of the meal from first course through dessert were perfection. A unique feature of the decor are enormous crystals of red salt, encased in glass and which were backlit for dramatic effect, a nod to the chef’s use of the ingredient in curing his dry-aged steaks that are displayed along the front wall of the restaurant. Will definitely dine here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a special meal.
