The food was all “OK”. There are plenty of upscale alternatives with better food at a lower price.

I booked Ray’s OTR to celebrate my husband’s 49th birthday, which is also Valentine’s Day. The lobster bisque was nasty, and it took so long to switch it for a Caesar, that we were halfway thru dinner by the time it came. It took forever to get lemons. We ordered more rolls but that was never put in. We had the tomahawk with lobster tails. We ordered it med rate, but it was more rare than it should’ve been, we just ate it anyway. Our primary server rarely came by. The food was decent, but not spectacular like I expected. For a $400 dinner, it didn’t meet my expectations, as a whole. Probably won’t be back.

Me and my wife did their Valentine’s Day special. The worst dinning experience in my life. The whole atmosphere was to get as many people humanly possible and shove them food and get them out as quickly as possible. The waiter rushed us to make all our selections up front which is obnoxious. My wife is vegetarian and there was one entree on the menu. That’s fine. They brought the entree first before the appetizers. I ordered a drink which never came. The food was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the money. I got the butter cake desert which was more like a pie. The crust was so hard. The only good thing we ate was the chocolate moose cake my wife got. Overall the whole experience felt like they wanted to get rid of us front the start. Horrible horrible experience after paying $250 for two. Will never visit this place again.

Valentine's Day at Rays on the River was a total disaster. It took 20 to 25 minutes to get into the parking lot and another five or ten minutes to get a table only to find out we could not order from the regular menu. When I complained to a manager, he said notice that there would be a special menu on Valentine's Day was in the "fine print". I'm quoting the manager who used the term "fine print". I went back and looked at my reservation and didn't see any such notice even in the "fine print". The notice should have been in bold face and in capital letters. We left without eating and it took another 20 to 25 minutes to get our car and leave the parking lot. In short, we were at Rays on the River for more than an hour and left without eating. The restaurant is suffering from very poor management.

We had dinner at Ray’s for Valentine’s Day. We sat under a heat lamp outside with a spectacular view of the river. Our server Noah was amazing, one of the best service experiences we’ve ever had and he even gave us a river-side photoshoot after dinner. Food was excellent. We’ll be back soon!

Me and my fiancé did an experience here for Valentine’s Day, which we will not do again. The select menu had great choices, but the food was terrible. The shrimp was very fishy seemed as if they had it for a while, and the steak had been covered in so much pepper that I couldn’t even taste the actual meat. The food was absolutely the poorest part of the experience would never recommend eating here.

I would not recommend Rays for Valentines day. The food was not what we were used to eating. It was very disappointing. And it was a total mad house. It felt more like a cafe than fine dining. Our server was wonderful. But this was not the same food we have enjoyed there in the past.

Overall the food was good. But there were definitely some very careless mistakes made in the presentation. My desert looked like someone had spilled a bit of another desert on top of mine. There was also a large thumb print as if someone had grabbed it while delivering it to the table. They did replace the desert on request, but it really should have never been brought out in that condition. The parking situation was really bad. About a 30 minute delay to drop off and retrieve your car after the meal. I lost count of how many people were stating they would never return while waiting in line. Hopefully things are better when it’s not a special occasion (Valentine’s Day).

The food was delicious! I ordered the 16 ounce ribeye and the whipped potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were cooked just right. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was super friendly. I absolutely love this place and I’ll definitely be returning soon
