Rare combines craft cocktails, in-house dry aged steaks and attentive service in an unabashedly old-school steak house setting. Milwaukee's downtown steakhouse features specialty cuts dry aged in-house, like the Rib Cap and the Bottleneck as well as offering more traditional cuts like our filet and our rib eye. Rare also carries the famed, and incredibly delicious A5 Wagyu, available by the ounce.

Complimenting our steaks and entrees is a specialty cocktail list and an extensive wine list with everything from wines for a big celebration to a weekday dinner.

Rare Milwaukee is one of the top business lunch destinations, but if you're just looking for a drink after work, Rare offers discounted cocktails, wines and snacks at happy hour.

The atmosphere was very nice. Super cool and inviting place. Most of the food was good. The pork belly starter was amazing. I had the american wagyu ribeye. It was fine, but over priced compared to others I've had. My wife had the bottle neck steak, quality of that was similar for $100 dollars less. Overall was a good dining experience.

We heard how great this place was so we put it on our list! We go to a new place every Friday night. It didn’t live up to the hype. Service lackluster. It was hard to get our waiter to come over as he was busy with the bigger tables. Food was good, but a bit pricey. Wagu definitely over priced from other top steakhouses in Milwaukee. Mashed potatoes was our favorite! Funny, you would think it would be the steak! MO’s is better in every catagory.

First we'd like to say that there was only one waiter for the evening. It took about 15 minutes before we were acknowledged by wait staff/help. Crafted cocktails were good. Appetizers were also good and came to the table timely. We ordered a loaded bake potato, Brussel sprouts and we each had a bottleneck cut steak MR. Bake potato was not cooked through and short on the bacon and cheese. Sprouts were burnt. Waiter began to explain that it was the oil. I politely stopped him in his explanation because they were obviously burnt. He was only making it worse. Steaks were good. They did offer us a complementary dessert for our anniversary. We declined, but were appreciative. The atmosphere was as a classic steakhouse. Your Polite Notice was completely ignored by all but us and one other table. "Polite Notice – For the comfort of all guests and to better deliver on our promise of a refined atmosphere, proper dress is required. Thank you for not wearing gym attire, sweatpants, tank tops, hats, clothing with offensive language or images, exposed undergarments, or overly exposure." The sprouts were not taken off the bill. No need for us to go back.
