Ramsays Kitchen in Boston offers a "literally best restaurant experience" with delicious food and attentive service. The Beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding are highlights. While some found it pricey, the atmosphere and decor received praise. Expect excellent service and memorable dishes, but be mindful of occasional slow service.

We had a most wonderful dinner tonight at Ramsay’s Kitchen. The food was really exquisite. We got the tasting menu. After salad and rolls, we were treated to a tuna tartare. The tuna was delightfully spiced and fresh. We also got the wine pairing and the Pinot Grigio was crisp and an excellent pairing. The next course was seared scallops. My son is not normally a fan, but loved these. He said if he didn’t know better, he would never have guessed it was seafood. Ours was paired with a Chablis that matched the food well. The next course was a half of the Beef Wellington. It was perfectly cooked and paired well with a Rioja. We all remarked that it was the highlight of the evening. Our last course was sticky toffee pudding. The sauce was amazing. It was paired with 10 year old Port. A most memorable way to finish an impeccable meal.

We wanted a nice Christmas dinner with the kids, as that we were traveling in from out of town and really enjoyed it. I only give it one less star because although I could find children’s options online, the host told me there were no kid menu items and just the normal menu. Had I not asked the waiter again, I would not have known there were actually two options for them not on the menu we had. My kids were not going to eat anything on the main menu and would have made for an awful night. Thank goodness I asked again.

We had high expectations for our late lunch/early Christmas dinner. Having watched Gordon Ramsay countless times on his many television shows, we were eagerly anticipating a memorable meal. When we were seated at our table, we quickly realized that it being Christmas, there was only a limited menu to choose from. Not a big deal, but I would have thought that the special menu would have been communicated when making the reservation, not after arrival. We were surprised that there was no salad or side vegetables on offer, other than crispy Brussels sprouts. The food we were served was excellent. We split the tuna tartare, which was fantastic. The Parker house rolls did not disappoint. The lobster bisque was rich and delicious. The beef Wellington was cooked perfectly medium rare and was thoroughly enjoyed. We also enjoyed on the side, Mac and cheese with crispy prosciutto, truffled scalloped potatoes, and after repeated requests, some sautéed broccolini. Our disappointment was in the service, especially the wine service. Our server was very friendly and pleasant, but definitely needs some training in how to properly serve wine. The first bottle wasn’t bad other than a few drops being spilled and the cork not being left on the table. The real problem came with the second bottle. First the cork broke. When she returned to the table, the bottle had been opened, and she immediately started pouring the new bottle into our glasses which still held wine from the previous bottle. Luckily, the new bottle wasn’t “corked”, or all the wine would have been wasted. I probably wouldn’t have even mentioned this mistake had what happened after paying the check. As I was about to sign the credit card receipt, I noticed that the charge for the wine was almost double the price listed on the wine list. After pointing out the error, it was corrected with the explanation that someone had changed the price in the computer.

Busy Christmas service with a slightly pared down menu. Servers were busy and it took 10 minutes after being seated to be even acknowledged by our eventual server. That was a bad start but once engaged the service was courteous and efficient. Salmon and scallop dishes were excellent as was tuna tartare. Good wines by the glass.

Do not waste your money. We went today, on Christmas, and had one of the worst restaurant experiences of all time. We were sat right by the door…so we were freezing as it kept opening. But, we were still hoping for a wonderful meal. They did not give us menus when we sat down. The waiter, 15 minutes later, said hello and then went to get menus. He quickly dropped them and took off. There was no wine/cocktail menu. After waiting another 15 minutes we asked another server for one and were told they had run out. Our waiter eventually found one for us, but we then waited another 20 minutes for drinks and in that time he was no where to be found. We finally ordered…3 entrees, and a side. Our entrees arrived but no side. Thinking our waiter would be by shortly we waited but, yet again, we had to find another server to find him. In total, we had to ask another staff member to find our server 4 times. The beef Wellington, the signature dish, was okay but the potato puree was freezing cold and it was clear the plates had been set with the puree and vegetables were plated well before the meat and had sat. Dessert was fine…and the mocktails I had were delicious. But, we also had to get someone to find our waiter to get the check and as I got up from the table I noticed I had gotten gum on my pants from the underside of the table. On another positive note…the valet was convenient and quick.

I went on December 25th, expecting they would offer brunch. The menu was very limited, all the food arrived cold, and they offered us coffee, but all the cups were stained because the coffee had spilled. Considering the price and the cost-benefit ratio, I was not satisfied with the expectations I had. The waiter was very kind, which was the only redeeming factor.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The location, the ambiance, the staff, the drinks, the food, the value for the money, simply amazing! Thank you Emilio and Sebastian at the bar for the best Old Fashioned and pumpkin spice latte cocktails ever; and especially, thank you Camilio, our server at the table, for the best recommendations for food anyone could ever get. Camilo was kind, knowledgeable, and funny. It truly was an amazing dining experience, and we can’t wait to go back.

Food overall was fine, our main server was very good, but the waiters/bus boys who brought the plates to the table were just awful, the worst I have ever seen. Zero smile, zero words, and they made mistakes with EVERY plate being handed to the wrong diner. The scallops dish was bland overall. No steak knives offered for the beef wellington. Just disappointing from such a brand and such a priced restaurant. Gordon - get your team to take a close look at the small details here...I cannot believe you would be happy with this...
