Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

    There were 6 people in our party. We had a variety of entrees ranging from steaks to salmon to pasta. Everyone said their food was delicious. The prices were reasonable. The service was excellent. We appreciate that you are able to make reservations. We will definitely be eating there again.

    Monica, thank you for your excellent service!! And Dante, thank you for demonstrating your new wine "glasses" . This was very informative, yet I ask that you please do keep the crystal ones. The meal was great -- squash ravioli and honey pepper steak. Everyone should try R Wine Bar for a great meal, super service, and a wonderful cozy atmosphere.

    The staff food and ambiance were amazing. I brought some friends that were visiting from out of town and no one was disappointed! We will be back for sure. The band was wonderful as well!

    It was my first time eating here and I would say the food/dessert were okay but not worth the price. We were celebrating a birthday and it was like the manager and server were trying to move us out. It was only 7:30pm and there were open tables around us but had to come grab a chair from our table. It was odd and it was a very loud restaurant. Unlikely to go back.

    First time eating at R Wine Bar, enjoyed everything from the appetizer, to entrees, and wine including the musician. So delicious and impressed everyone in my party of four. Higher priced meals but so worth it. My husband had the steak and was the best steak we've ever had. Highly recommend eating here for a night out with friends, or even a special occasion. 10 out of 10!

    We had a great experience! This was a work dinner and they put us at a quiet table behind the kitchen in the back part of the Dining Area. This was appreciated! The food was awesome, as usual!

    It was very chilly inside. Had a slight cool draft on us. Had to move to another table after the salad as was so uncomfortable. The braised beef entree barely had any meat in it …resembled a bowl of cream soup. My Tuscan rigatoni barely had any sausage in it….more like rigatoni covered in a naked sauce. Must have a new chef as we’ve had these meals before and they were excellent. Not any more! Not worth the $100+ we spent. Won’t go back.
