   The food was impeccable. We enjoyed every bite. We ordered for apps the guacamole, oysters, mushrooms, and ceviche. Main plates we had various steaks and then dessert the tres leches cake and chocolate crème brûlée. Everything was soooo good. They were really busy (Saturday night) so kind of took awhile for things to come out but it was perfect and gave our group time to catch up and socialize. We didn’t feel rushed which can happen weekend nights at restaurants. We had the mezclaritas which were so delicious. I’m not a big mezcal fan usually but the combinations in it made for a tasty cocktail. Only got pictures of my steak because we scarfed down everything too fast.

   It was our first time visiting Quemar since it has opened. We were surprised by how nice it was inside and the liveliness. The food was great and our server was as well. We will definitely be coming back and love the new go to place at the Oceanfront!

   I had an AMAZING time for dinner, a great impression was left for our first time visit! The service was great and very attentive and welcoming, even down to the valet service - 10s across the board! A friend and I pretty much ordered (majority) of the menu. The highlights of the night were the oysters, the fish tacos and the guacamole. I also ordered the caesar salad which was really good! Entree wise, we shared the ribeye with chimichurri and the short rib burrito. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The short rib burrito was a bit underwhelming, I wasn't blown away by it like I was with all the other dishes. Dessert: please get the churros and the rum caramel sauce. the cinnamon sugar on the churros with the almost "brown buttery" flavor of the caramel paired wonderfully.

   First time at the restaurant and it was wonderful. Great food and drinks. It is pricey, but worth it.

   My wife and I have found a new favorite restaurant in Virginia Beach -Quemar. The valet, Anthony was very welcoming and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy with perfect soft white lighting. Mary our server was so helpful and explained the meaning behind the restaurant name, gave detailed and interesting insights into the menu items and just made the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable. We will request to be in Mary’s section when we return. Tacos were delicious and the “carrot” dish we had heard about lived up to it’s hype. Great wine selection also. The gluten free apple crisp desert was also a winner. Top marks!

   Our server was behind the eight ball our entire meal. He missed several drink orders and demonstrated a lack of attention to detail with pre-bussing the table or asking the entire table for drink orders whenever we would get his attention. He also told us about the meal specials after we had already ordered entrees. Our bill before gratuity was $985. Automatic gratuity of 20% for the level of service we received was unjustified. Love the ambience at Quemar and the food is always good, margaritas are excellent. However, with the amount of money I spent I expect a decent level of service, especially for a business meal. I will not be taking my large parties to Quemar in the future because of this concern.
