The food was acceptable but the price point was a bit high for what it is. It’s barbecue, folks. The dining experience should be casual; the food should be simple and uncomplicated. Overall, I think the restaurant produces decent to good dishes, but the evening crowd - consisting mostly of obliviously ethnocentric white, middle class, self-indulgent dullards - can make it a less than casual experience for those simply wanting to eat some smoked meat dishes without being aurally assaulted by loud, self-important conversations about cars, office politics, and other basic bro topics.

Beef brisket was worst ever....very fatty and tough and did not look like it was smoked since no ring on it.. All meats were served ‘warm’, not hot. The sides were the best part of the meal. The manager was very good and apologetic and replaced the beef with chicken. The manager was great and wanted to make us satisfied. Will we try the place again? Not sure.

It was a BUSY night with the Phantoms hockey game getting ready to start at 7:00. Reservations were for 5:00. Quickly seated (VERY GLAD to have had reservations!!), drinks, orders taken, everything was good. A very friendly waitress who checked on our drinks a few times waiting for our meals. THEN THE DELAY. I get it, the place was packed and busy. But when the table next to ours go their food before we did (we had 6 people, they had 6 people) and we had ORDERED before they sat down then I was bothered. (I found out later that one of the people at their table was also a bartender at the restaurant. Maybe that helped them get better service???) I asked the waitress more than once about our order and eventually the manager came over to reassure us our meals were on the way. Even the waitress started avoiding our table because she knew I was getting upset waiting for our meals. The meals were served, by the manager, and as usual the food was excellent and plentiful. The bill for 6 was very reasonable. I have been there for lunch twice before and the service was always good and the food always great. Again, I KNOW it was busy but about an hour from ordering until our meal was served. That isn't acceptable

Went to have dinner before the Barry manilow concert. Reservation right on time, service quick, good explanation of the variety of sauces, good prices, and was out very timely! We would go again. My husbands second visit by my first.

We were very disappointed with the food. The brisket was 90% fat and the service was not the best. The server mentioned that the brisket could be fatty after we complained about this selection. Tha ambiance is wonderful and we loved the idea of being so close to the PPl center and Symphony Hall, but better grade of meat would be desirable.

Absolutely fantastic food and great atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive service and we would highly recommend going there. They were also participating in an American Cancer Society fundraising event which is much appreciated.
