CONS: The heater was broken, yet of course no one informed us until our order was placed. It was cold as hell and people kept their puffers and scarves on. Service was surprisingly slow considering the amount of occupied tables. Drinks were even slower. PLEASE do something about your crappy acoustics. PROS: The food was good and served to temp.

Food was excellent!! The service … not so much. We were there with another couple to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary; it was noted by the hostess but then she seated us right next to the service stand (worst is by the bathrooms). We asked to move and they were ok about it but surprised we wanted to move. Our anniversary was not mentioned again so not sure if it was significant to them. We ordered the wine pairing with our respective meals yet the wine came after our dinner was delivered. It took about 10-15 minutes until our wine arrived without an apology. Huh. The wine we were given was served to the wrong guests at the table. Maybe some people would not have noticed but oenophiles like us caught the mixup. Rookie mistake. This restaurant is marketed as a wine bar but the wine service and service in general needs some work. Maybe they need more people or a general manager more interested in the front of house success. We planned to drop quite a bit of money there but just ended up having dinner then leaving. Too bad. It is a beautiful place with a striking wine tower in the middle but wine service needs attention. We did return an Alsatian Gewurztraminer that did not live up to expectations and they easily replaced it with a different wine. Maybe it was off night? The restaurant and bar were not filled so can’t explain by rushed service. I won’t go back which is too bad. It is in a great area.

We've visited this location of Purple Cafe several times when we attend concerts at Benaroya Hall. This time was subpar... The concert was at 7:30 and our reservation was at 5:45 - plenty of time to enjoy -- however, everything was late coming to our table including wine and food. The server did not share the reason for delay until we finally got her attention and apparently the kitchen was behind... Mind you the restaurant was half full - they had a separate party also going on the second level. Nonetheless, we were NOT able to finish our meal due to long delays and lack of communication from staff of restaurant -- unfortunately, we won't be back. You'd think they would have been prepared with a private party and service in the other level of restaurant...There are A LOT of restaurants in Seattle to choose from and this one has lost our business..

The restaurant is lovely but because of the high ceilings, it is quite cold and the chill colors the experience! This was our third time at the restaurant but we will not come back until the chilly temps make it a more enjoyable evening!

Probably better for appies (nice selection) than dinner. Food is good, but not exceptional. We dined with another couple and they wouldn't give us separate checks, which is just silly and inconvenient.

The food was good, however plan your timing. The service was pleasant but slow. Although we planned for a 2 hour dinner, we were rushed to make it to our show.

Our server was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The shrimp roll was somewhat dry though the flavors were good. Baguette is good but not worth $10. Corn chowder was unusual but tasty. The clam linguini was bland. Good wine - rose and rousanne. Salted caramels were good but served cold rather than at room temperature which made the chocolate taste cheap. Raspberry sorbet was good. This high-ceiling restaurant is extremely loud and diners yell at each other to be heard. Not conducive to conversation.
