Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.

Service was GREAT - timely, attentive and warm. Menu had a variety of options including beef, pork, seafood, vegetables and cocktails. Presentation of the food and drinks was impressive. Unfortunately, the food was not as flavorful as my husband and I would have preferred. The Valentines card, coupon and invitation to return was a thoughtful marketing gesture.

The food was excellent. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor seating had outdoor heaters, but could be a little warmer. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely come back.

We had an amazing Valentines Day experience! The staff were helpful and friendly. Great food and great service. Highly recommend Public house for any special occasions!

The menu was very appealing! Hard time deciding what to get because everything sounded so good! Large portions so we took half home to get two meals out of it. The desserts were excellent and they make the best chocolate martini I have ever tasted!

My food was good and hot my wife sent he chicken back for being cold and under heat lamp. The replacement was the same. Chicken is usually great but not this time.

Made the reservation on Feb 14 2025 for 5 pm. Waited significantly past that time to be seated for a “server meeting” One actually seated we waited at least 10-15 minutes more before we ever had water or even acknowledgment due to this ongoing “server meeting”. During this time, the waiting lobby is beyond crowded and packed full. The entry was their valentines special ribeye. Zero flavor. The baked potato purée was decent. Will not return here for date nights or important nights that require details to be on time.

My husband and I had the most incredible evening at public house for Valentine’s Day. Ross at the bar was absolutely exceptional, anticipating our needs and making some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had… And we are picky. The food was all delicious. We ended up ordering five appetizers and the fried chicken entrée. Everything from the sauce to the breading to the little details was just marvelous. We came here eight years ago and we were afraid our memories of it were rose colored, and it would not be as good as we remembered. Public house blew us away in every way, and we will definitely travel back to Chattanooga just to eat here again
