Winner of the UK's Best Independent Restaurant of the Year, 2014. Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself. Our menu includes sustainably-caught mouth-watering fresh fish cooked in crunchy batter, served with golden chips and classic mushy peas, prepared on the premises by our onsite fishmonger. You can also try the seafood platter, pies, chicken, or traditional east end classics like jellied eels, followed by traditional, indulgent English desserts such as sticky toffee pudding and apple pie. Drinks vary from fruit juices and traditional ginger ale, to carefully-picked wines and locally-sourced beers.

Well this place is excellent , food was very well cooked., and hot, good service, nice at, and very friendly and polite staff, good location for theatre land, ideal for a pre show meal, you will just have to walk it off before sitting down for 3 + hours. Was like have fish & chips 50 odd years ago

Had been before and had found food to be great, but not this time, it was just pretty bland, neither the fish nor the chips were well-seasoned and it did not impress at all. Quite costly as well, specially considering all the above. Most likely not coming back....

Best fish&chips experience. Staff very attentive and helped us choose the best. Very happy with the dinner, fast and very tasteful. A shoutout to the staff that really made us feel comfortable and made sure everything was okay. Thank you.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli. L’ambiance est chouette et surtout le fish and chips est un pur délice. Nous y retournerons lors de notre prochain voyage à Londres. Parfait.

Service was bad at best. Fish was small in size and the oil that the fish was fried in was old. I’ve had better fish n chips in dives around London.
