   If you come or live on HHI, you must eat at Pomodori. Fabulously basic Italian in a NY Bistro atmosphere. Great wine list also.

   Order the ravioli. It is perfect! The bread dragged through the sauce is Devine. Service was excellent.

   My wife and I had different meals and were both impressed with the flavors. The salad and dessert were a shared events that we both totally loved. Service was also over the top along with the food!

   Every time I eat here it seems better than the last. Not sure how they do it, but the food just gets better and better. Amazing chicken and eggplant Parmesan with wonderful sauce on the pasta. Combined with brussel sprouts or sauteed spinach as a side makes for a wonderful meal. Paired with a bold Super Tuscan finishes off each delicious bite. Service is always excellent and your meal is served fast and hot.

   Pomodori prepares authentic Italian food. Their portions are very large which gives you the opportunity for leftovers the next day.

   We had a terrific meal last night. The gnocchi and chicken piccata were terrific. The gnocchi was like pillows from heaven, just like we had remembered. A real family feel there.

   My husband and I had incredibly fond memories of dining here 9 years ago - it was such a good meal that we came back a second night during our 5 night vacation in Hilton Head, and we’ve recommended it over the years to a number of friends who were traveling to HHI. We tried to return two years ago but they were fully booked during our visit. This time I lucked out and got a reservation for 5 but all they had available was the outside (tented and heated) seating. For starters, it’s not the same. The restaurant itself has such a warm, lovely vibe that just had not been even remotely recreated in their outdoor seating area which is a shame. The lighting could be more dim, there could be music, it could have a bit more of a “vibe.” It was very quiet out there and while it was warm with the heaters for such a cold December night, it just wasn’t the same. The service was fine, but felt impersonal and rushed. Our food came out SO fast - for a meal like this, we were in and out the door in one hour, and that was with appetizers and drinks. It was bizarre. (Our reservation was for 7:30, so not like it was an unusually late reservation and they were trying to get out of there.) The food is what i was so excited about because my memory was that it was phenomenal, memorable Italian food cooked with love. The dinner we had last night was good. I’d argue it was very good Italian food in the grand scheme of things. But it wasn’t special. It didn’t have those same flavors, the same delicateness to the pasta… the same “wow” factor it once did. It could have been any other good Italian restaurant. And that made me a bit sad!
