Petit Trois Le Valley, the second outpost of Chef Ludo Lefebvre's beloved bistro, opened its doors in 2018 in Sherman Oaks. This larger location channels a lavish French Brasserie, with its marble bar, banquette lined dining room, and a Chef’s counter overlooking the open kitchen. The second dining room can be reserved for larger parties and private events.

Since opening, Petit Trois has garnered praise from casual foodies and revered food critics. In 2015, Petit Trois was nominated for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation and in 2019 earned the Bib Gourmand designation upon the Michelin Guide’s return to Los Angeles. Additionally, Petit Trois was featured on the late Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles list from 2015-2017 and has remained on the list since 2019 when Bill Addison & Patricia Escárcega took over.

Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: Whereas the original Petit Trois is just as its name implies—small—Ludo Lefebvre’s second, much larger iteration of the restaurant in Sherman Oaks is all high ceilings, gold accents, and comfy mint green banquettes. You can still order all of the hits, like steak frites and the famous Le Big Mec burger, but a word of advice: Book a seat at the compact chef’s counter to get a view of all the action in the kitchen.

Food and service - amazing! Music / ambiance…could use some work. Too much rap and club music for a cozy french restaurant dinner.

They’re struggling in all aspects. The pastry program went to absolute hell, the main menu changes so often it doesn’t know what to do. A 68$ steak frites comes with an incredibly small portion of fries now. It’s just a mess here. It’s a shame but for some reason ever since he broke away from JnV it’s been a disaster. I’ve tried over and over to give it a second chance. I think he’s lost forever. Sadness.

The food is very good, of course, but $25 for an omelette and a few slices of lettuce on the side is very pricey. Service excellent. And ambience very upscale. Had a martini at lunch and didn’t specify the vodka. The house vodka, whatever it is, is pretty terrible.
