Parkside, a gastro pub in Austin’s lively downtown area is home to chef/owner Shawn Cirkiel. Located directly on Sixth Street, it offers a casual venue for his unpretentious, but bold take on New American Cuisine. Offerings include a sumptuous raw bar—which often carries as many as 12 varieties of oysters. While the menu changes seasonally—even daily--diners can enjoy both dramatic dishes like seared scallops with butternut puree, jalapeno, and lime or comfort basics such as a cheeseburger or fried egg sandwich.

Great restaurant on 6th street! Love the atmosphere and the food! Oysters were fantastic. Great spot to eat when you want to walk around the bar district all night!

It was an overall OK experience. There were a few fundamentals that were missed … no silverware; orders arriving individually, as opposed to together (literally, all individual courses were served ten minutes apart … always fun to stare at an empty place setting as someone eats across from you!) Drinks and food were tasty, and I’ll leave it at that.

Don’t go here. Good for large parties. They don’t have regular tequila or vodka. My Caesar salad chicken had skin on it

Awesome service, seated at table requested, ceasar salad exceptional, cheeseburger one of the best in austin, steak perfectly cooked, bass app from raw bar fresh and tasty, dessert doughnuts only disappointment seemed doughy inside and overdone outside Wish they had a few more selections wine by glass but what they do have good, loved the gruner

Parkside has an amazing menu of with very healthy, imaginative, dishes. While I had been to Parkside years ago, I feel their menu has gotten so much more sophisticated. Love our visit!
