   I was very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. However, as we get older, we just don’t eat as much. We had cocktails. Appetizer, soup for my husband and salad for me. We decided to share an entree so we could eat dessert. It was a birthday surprise tiramisu. We didn’t even finish our entree. It was a $42 plate of food and the charged a $5 extra plate fee. Was that really necessary? It really bothers me. Didn’t we spend enough money? I mean it wasn’t just one meal, we had salad, appetizers, dessert, cocktails. We were only there like an hour. That just kind of spoiled it for me. I don’t mind paying for a nice meal but don’t nickel and dime me.

   Ms. Wortmann, I apologize for the inconvenience. I wish you would have said something while you were still here. The server could only show me the note you wrote on the receipt after you departed. We stopped charging for share plates several months back. It sounds like you found an item that was overlooked and not removed when they rung in the share plate. It should've shown as no charge. I will ask the staff to go back through all of our items in the computer to make sure it's completely removed from our system. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and please let us know if there is an issue at the time of service, so that we can correct it right away.    Took some family members out for Thanksgiving weekend. Been a couple years since our last visit during Easter. Ordered the eggplant and Italian shrimp appetizers, both were amazing and sharable amongst the four of us. Redfish almandine was spectacular, Mediterranean fish was delicious as were the lobster ravioli and risotto. Finished the night off with a fantastic piece of tiramisu. Wonderful experience and 5 stars all around.

   The owner doesn’t care about his staff or his guests. Although the forecast called for cold weather, we reserved outside tables knowing that the restaurant had heaters. When we arrived, we were informed that there was no propane. Our waitress went on to tell us that they were having “a hard time providing propane.” It’s not uranium! There’s an Ace Hardware down the street. The owner just didn’t seem to care because there was only one table outside that night— clearly not worth it to go through the trouble of procuring that ever elusive propane. The poor hostess stood outside all night with only a small heater to warm her. We won’t be back.

   The hostess didn't think it was very cold and she said she was perfectly content with her small heater. She's instructed to sit inside if the weather is too cold or hot. If it was so cold then why did you proceed to sit on the balcony for over an hour after you paid your bill. Here's an idea for you in the future. If you don't want to be cold, then don't book and outside table on a chili night. You were obviously the only ones to do so. Thank you for not coming back.

   Food was excellent! Our server, Kaiden, was polite, attentive, professional and knowledgeable. He acknowledged our anniversary and the owner came to our table and did a champagne toast. Our only two suggestions for improvement are: 1. Don’t keep it so cold in the dining room 2. Have a bartender in the dining room bar to prepare drinks and not in the downstairs bar. We waited 20-25 minutes for our first drink. Other than these two items, we enjoyed our experience.

   Absolutely incredible. Everything was top notch and no details of our plate were missing. The look, taste, and quality of the food was excellent!

   Great bruschetta and entrees were good. Small dining room with a glass wall, intended to be for the view I’m assuming, but only sound in the dining room was everyone trying to talk over each other. Hard to have a conversation at our own table. Other than that, it was a good experience.

   The food is amazing! Wouldn’t seat us because all guests hadn’t arrived! Made us go into bar downstairs which we weren’t interested in that. Then when our guests arrived asked us to wait downstairs till someone came to get us. Went upstairs anyway and the restaurant was empty! So why couldn’t we sit and have a cocktail in the restaurant and order an appetizer?? We wanted to be served when we arrived on time! Take care of the customers that show up on time! One of our guests owns a high end restaurant in Miami and was shocked the way they handled things! Customers come first!

   Hi Ms. Caldwell, I'm sorry you do not agree with our policy. However it is there for several reasons. There are too many reasons to list on here but to make it short and sweet, it is very important for the flow of the restaurant and to make sure all of our customers have a great visit. What I did not know until after you left, was how you abused a member of our staff. I had to hear it from two other individuals because the young lady you were speaking down to was not willing to come forth on her own. We appreciate your review, however you are not welcomed back to our establishment.

   My husband & I went to Papillon’s for our anniversary. We were absolutely blown away. The service was phenomenal & the food was delicious. The small, but special, touches really made our evening memorable. We will definitely be back!

    Hands down best dining experience we have had since moving to the Northshore a couple years ago. Both service and food were outstanding. Bruschetta was super fresh and prepared perfectly for my taste. The beef tips over risotto is now on my list of top 5 Tastiest Items I’ve Ever Eaten. Everything on the menu sounded so wonderful it will be hard to pick something different next time…and there will definitely be a next time. Our server made the perfect meal even more enjoyable. Attentive but never over bearing. Warm and gracious. Thank you to the whole team for a beautiful evening. You definitely have a gem in Old Mandeville. We are looking forward to our next visit!
