My third visit and the service in the bar area is chaotic. No menus on tables. Unclear whether it’s table service or bar service. At the bar, there are far too few staff, all busy mixing cocktails, so there is a large queue to be served and they have no time to understand the order of the queue. Once you get your own menu, attracting a waiter is tough enough to require hanging about at the waiter end of the bar to ask someone to take an order. I’d been there for 50 mins before my order was taken. We then waited for 40 mins to get food served - this entailed asking twice about where it was. No sign of the drinks. The cost of drinks was removed from the bill as a good will gesture. We then had to ask twice where our drinks were - they arrived just as we were finishing the food. And, you’ll not be surprised to read that we had to ask three times for the bill. It was then a case of hovering again at the waiter end of the bar where the manager eventually tried to serve me and help me to pay but seemed incapable of entering the payment amount into a card machine herself and so had to ask an already flat out member of the bar team to input the numbers. Twice. Because the bill payment failed to process on the first attempt. This is a really very beautiful bar setting. The drinks (when they come) and food are good. The bar system is completely unfit for purpose and yet bar staff and waiters are constantly running around, seemingly doing anything other than bringing food/drinks or taking orders and bringing bills. I have no idea what, but they all looked stressed and busy. We were not alone. I saw eight different people involved in the same ridiculous farce we were in and talked to one woman who simply gave up and left after an hour of feeling invisible. A place like this with all its aspirations needs to do whole lot better.

Just a lovely experience. We went for a late lunch for my birthday and the ambience was calming. Lots of people in the bar but it didn't feel overcrowded. I would definitely attend again.

An extremely expensive menu for little portions. The ‘scouse’ is not a representative of what scouse is. As we are in Liverpool we all know what scouse should look/taste like. So disappointing for any visitors to the city wanting to sample our famous dish. Did not resemble Scouse in any way, very disappointed.

Unfortunately a disappointing birthday experience. I booked a table for our group and was taken to a small circular coffee table. We had intended to have food but wouldn’t have been able to eat off such a small table. We spoke to a waitress about this and she said all the other larger tables were booked. Instead we just had drinks which while they looked large, were packed full of ice so there actually wasn’t as much drink in them. Venue is otherwise very nice. Maybe it should say on the booking what sort of table you request? We would have spent money on food but had to leave to go elsewhere.

Would not recommend for a special occasion. I made a reservation for food and drinks on Christmas Eve as a treat. We were eventually told to take a seat and somebody would take our order. We waited for 20 minutes and nobody came. I then went to the bar to query this and was told somebody would come over. We ordered our drinks and were told our food order would be taken in a few minutes. Our drinks did not arrive for a further 20 minutes, I had to go back to the bar to chase up again. While at the bar I told the staff we still hadn’t had our food order taken. Our drinks eventually arrived, so nice again we were not asked if we would like to order food and at this point we gave up. We drank our drinks and had to go the bar to request our bill, we were then told to sit down while the bill was sorted. We received the bill and were shocked that a service charge had been added when the service had been abysmal. We had booked this as a nice thing to do on Christmas Eve and were throughly disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel for any special occasions as the service is not on par with the beautiful surroundings.

really good mocktails - it’s not on the menu so you have to ask. we got strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas and they were so good!! will be coming back! I think the lady who gave us the food was in such a rush everytime she gave our appetizers she could’ve just waited and said what each item was over the noise and ask if we needed anything (because we did). Asian guy who served us the drinks to our table was so lovely! Live music was a lovely touch.

I would of gave in a 5 star but it was so understaffed it took them 10 minutes just to get us seated and we ended up having to clear are own table. 45 minutes just to get are order in and we had to go up to the front and get someone to get are order. And it took 50 minutes to get the bill and we asked 3 separate people. I loved the restaurant and I have never wrote a bad review in my life but honestly it was a joke.
