   My husband and I ate dinner at the bar last night. We had a lovely bartender who was knowledgeable and attentive. They have a nice craft beer selection. The menu is creative yet small which I prefer; still with options for everyone. We split oysters (the mignonette was so good!), chilled octopus, and sea bass ciopinno. The portion sizes were perfect for the price point. The food was flavorful and unique. Valet parking is available for $17, or meter street parking. Highly recommended!

   As has already been written, the portion sizes were very small. I will say that the prices reflected the portions $30 ish versus $50 ish. The menu is limited with the only real appetizer being oysters. It was also very loud. We did enjoy our waitress and there was a nice selection of wine.

   From the moment we arrived through dinner, our experience was superb. I had the ahi tuna and it was perfectly prepared and delicious. Chef RJ even came out to greet us giving us the opportunity to congratulate him and his team on a great new addition to the Detroit food scene. Highly recommend.

   As a new restaurant (open roughly 2 months) to the Detroit scene, they made a great first impression. Our server, Samantha, did a great job of taking care of us, as well as the circulating staff who was filling glasses and providing apps and entrees to the table throughout the evening. We wanted to try many of the small plates, and went with two types of oysters, the octopus, shrimp, cioppino, chowder, and scallops. All were delicious, and we each tried at least a spoonful or item from each dish. Finally, the buttermilk and caramel cake for dessert was a good, thick cake to support the sauce and topping. Kudos as well to bartender Samantha "Marbles" who knows how to make a whiskey sour with egg white. The only suggestions I would make would be to definitely offer with the side dishes an option for bread. Only providing toast points with the cioppino is not enough, especially if you want to sop up some of the great sauces or soups that are being provided. Also, although valet parking is offered, it is only done off of West Congress, in front of the London Chop House, which by the time you get to the restaurant "entrance" on Shelby, you've either already passed the Chop House, or have to keep circling the block to get a valet spot off of a crowded street. Otherwise, you're using a local lot or garage, and the open lot option leaves you at the mercy of their weekend pricing. Regardless, we will be back for the fine fare, service, and nice vibe!

    It gives a small plate vibe. Don’t go here expecting to get to full. However, it’s a very cute spot.
