About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively

From the OpenTable editors: Osteria Savio Volpe proves simple isn’t boring. The rustic menu leans into Italy’s best, with housemade pasta, fire-grilled meats and peak-season produce served in a buzzy, stylish space. Dishes like crisp arancini and rich tagliatelle alla bolognese showcase the kitchen’s unfussy, big-hearted cooking. The drinks keep up with easygoing cocktails and a stellar by-the-glass wine lineup.

Came here tonight to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. This is my third time going to Salvio Volpe, all instances have been to celebrate special occasions such as my chill bachelorette dinner, last date before we had our first baby, and now a relationship anniversary that has stood the tests of long distance and pandemic. This is our first time going back since they’ve been acknowledged for bib gourmand. In terms of food and service I’m happy to say nothing has changed. Excellence on a plate exceeds our expectations in the best of ways, we love how they care and feauture local and seasonal ingredients into a fantastic meal. The Alla famiglia is the best value you can get. While there are some things that can be customized for dietary preferences, we honestly love the surprise of what comes out of the kitchen from start to finish. Reservations are recommended far in advance if you want to snag a weekend dinner slot but it’s honestly worth it. Not the last time we’ll be back and hope to come back again and celebrate many more memories soon.

The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful in their recommendations. We started with 2 different Negronis, Massimo and Bianca, both drinks were done exceptionally well. Think we could have simply tasted a flight of Negronis and would have been content for the evening. We went with the “al familia” option which was the tasting experience. This was a starter, salad, protein, side and a dessert. You can request one option if you wish, otherwise it’s an Italian journey through food choosing by your server. The starter was crème fresh, cappocola and bread toasted over a wood burning stove. The bread was the star of the show and melded perfectly with the other two plates foods. The salad was a mix of different lettuces, grapefruit, with a vinaigrette dressing. Great palette cleanser after the starter. For the pasta we got the gemelli with lamb and pork sausage sauce, and they threw in an extra little risotto on the side with fresh peas lemon juice and asparagus. These were very tasty dishes that went together well and wasn’t too much food to overwhelm your senses or stomach. The protein course was their special of the night, pork loin wrapped in pork belly, covered in spices, rolled up and cooked over a spit all afternoon. It was served over a bed of polenta purée. This was worth the wait as each bite had the savory pork loin, subtle sweet from mint sauce on the pork, crispy pork belly, and the polenta to bring it all together. We barely saved room for dessert, but was treated to an excellent rhubarb tart with chantilly cream with strips of rhubarb ribbon. This was a dinner I’d love to live over and over again. Well worth the visit!

The whole experience was fantastic. We ordered the tasting menu, and listed foods we wanted to avoid (in our case olives, capers and seafood) and everything was delicious, from their pink lady salad to their creamy mushroom polenta. Definitely a 5/5 fine dining experience !

Staff and service are impeccable. Atmosphere is calming but not too quiet. Food is top shelf. Absolutely worth the price of admission. You cannot lose. The wait for reservations is worth your time.
