Overall a good experience for fine dining. Their plating and flavours were presented well. Our server, Ricky was wonderful. Very experienced and was happy to offer suggestions. We ordered all (but 2) of their appetizers, the grilled octopus, beef tartar, Sicilian salmon crudo were good. Must try, the pomelo (instead of peach) prosciutto in burrata, the flavours and textures were excellent & perfectly paired. Also delicious and commendable was the Frittura Di Mare lightly battered deep fried zuchini, shrimp and calamari. The Shrimp (lobster broth) risotto needed to be slow cooked as it was too Al dente. The flavours of the burrata margherita and mushroom truffle (touch too much honey) pizza were excellent but wished the crust was thinner with at least 48hr rise dough as it felt more like a deep dish pizza consistency. Wished the duck confit not have been cut into such large cubes as a pasta dish. The gelatos; pistachio and raspberry were delicious as was the Ricotta pistachio cake was light and moist. Lattes, especially Nutella (just a hint, not too sweet) latte were excellent. Enjoyed the Dolomia sparkling water from Italy and the Ziraldo Prosecco paired well with everything. We’ve studied and travelled thru Italy (plus lived/work in Woodbridge) so we’re looking for an authentic Italian restaurant in Markham. Hope we’re not being too critical. It’s been a long time since someone raised the bar on good Italian food in Markham or Richmond Hill since fine dining Italian restaurants like Massimo Capra’s Fratticelli’s which has since shuttered. Places like Il Postinos has not kept up their food quality. Hope OM will consider our suggestions to keep foodies like us coming back for more!
