Very disappointed in this restaurant. It has tremendous set up and furnishings are attractive; however, the food was a real let down. We had different cuts of meat (NY strip and picanha), and they were bland and tasteless. Sad for a place that is supposed to be a grilled meat specialist. The sweet and sour cauliflower was very good as were the truffle fries, but a small salad was $19.00. The "chimichurri" was basically chopped parsley and oil. Service was very good and efficient. Will not go back.

We had high expectations. But left disappointed. First, if you have asthma, this place is not for you. My throat was irritated from the smoke in the kitchen and I was sitting as far from it as one could get. Also, my clothes and hair smelled after we left. Food was okay. Broccolini was excellent but went downshifting there. Skirt steak was chewy (very), bone marrow didn’t seem to be properly prepared and we left the entire plate virtually untouched. Salmon was good. Kale salad was okay. The bar was good if you ordered things on the menu. However, if you order a classic cocktail that’s not you are in trouble. We didn’t like the service. I asked the waiter to omit onions for My steak. It clearly says there are onions on ALL steaks on their menu (look for fine print on top). He actually had no idea about this and then proceeded to tell me I was wrong. I pointed to the menu and he said, well, the onions are on the side in your plate. So, I said please don’t add the onions at all. What do you think? They brought me the onions. Banana split was a joke. Obvious concoction of ice cream, pop cornc - crumbled brownie and a banana from a super market… Definitely not a place I would return to. Luckily there are many options in the neighborhood.

Good meal. A little misunderstanding on what steak was ordered. Biggest complaint: $16 order of corn was LAUGHABLY small…. Maybe a bite each for 4. Gnocchi was delicious but similarly tiny….

Fabulous vibe for the grove-we are long time residents and among so many ridiculous new places, this is the real deal! Inventive menu-solid gourmet! Fabulous service-and amazing wines-we’ve been a few times & will keep coming back-shout out to Marta!! The team at this place has got it together and we will keep coming back!

Wonderful new addition to the Grove! Ambience is stylish and classic and the wine selection is great! Good vegetable offerings to go alongside the fantastic meat selection! Servers were all fantastic! Highly recommend

Really disappointed with our experience last night. The service was not good, the food was in some cases bad. We asked for sparking water, it never came. Either he couldn’t hear us or didn’t understand. The crab claw appetizer was frozen, bland and rubbery. When I told the server he seemed indifferent. We had to ask for the plates with the crab claws to be removed for The caviar service which also left a lot to be desired missing the traditional accompaniments, and the person couldn’t open the tin. The Beef carpaccio was good, but small and more cheese and pickled onions than beef. Our main courses were mediocre. The lamb chops and New York strips were fine, but nothing special. The short rib from the special menu was not tender. Side dishes were fine, not great. The desserts were good. And the wine was very good with a nice ordering system, selection and a good temperature. When we asked for a second bottle the person didn’t understand or couldn’t hear us and by the time the server asked again if we were ok on drinks the dessert was arriving so we didn’t attempt to ask for another bottle. While a $700 bill including 20% gratuity for our group of 4 is not out of the ordinary, it was not worth it. The noise level, uncomfortable ambient dining room temperature (the doors are open presumably because of the strong wood fire smell) and messy ladies room are things we would have gladly overlooked if the food and service were better but the overall combination just made for a bad experience. I rarely leave reviews but this restaurant is a great concept that just doesn’t deliver.

Food and service were great. Unfortunately, they need to fix their exhaust system. The wood fire fills the restaurant with smoke when they are cooking on it. Hair and clothes smelled of smoke afterwards. Hopefully, they will fix the balance of their hood system with the a/c. Then we will be back.
