Danilo Orofino was born in Palermo, Sicily, where he studied the culinary arts as well as restaurant and hotel management. He opened his first restaurant/coffee bar in Sicily at the age of 18. After 4 years of hard work, he closed the place with dreams of doing even more with his life.

    Rockfish special wonderful! Friend had the beef short ribs, a lot of meat. The risotto that accompanies it was awesome. Food great at this restaurant and never disappoints.

    Best short ribs I have ever eaten in the regional special menu. Pasta was cooked perfectly on tagliatelle al ragu and eggplant dish. The Cab Sauv wine pairing suggested to us was also the perfect choice. This is one our favorites downtown. We have never had a bad meal at Orofino and we will be back.

    We had a wonderful dinner enjoying the chefs choice for restaurant week! Initially upon seating the waiter didn’t take our drink order- we sat for about 5-10 min. But once returned, took our drink order and everything went smooth. The dinner specials were outstanding!

    Many choices, NEVER had a bad meal at Orofino's. The wait staff are very congenial, knowledgeable and attentive.

    This restaurant is the best Italian in the area. The low review is for the Salmon. Menu states and verified with the waiter Wild caught Salmon. It is 100% farmed. It’s so easy to visually see the difference. Would have been happy to order another dish but waiter Jefferson confirmed. When brought to his attention he just shrugged. No offer for a different dish or talk either chef. Disappointed. Don’t print wild when it’s not. Farmed Salmon is so poor quality.

    Orofino never disappoints. Danillo Orofino has a top notch restaurant and his staff to include the manager Tim are wonderful. I always feel like "home" when we go. Orofino's is always my go to restaurant.

    Great meal overall. Monthly regional specials were delicious. Caesar salad was just okay (inclusion of sundried tomatoes was a bit of a miss). The bread was good but they were a bit stingy with it. 4.5/5
