   We loved everything about the place…except the salad. That’s not how you make a Japanese salad with ginger dressing. It was doused in dressing to the point of a big soggy bowl of mush. I will go back to the restaurant for sure but will not have the salad. The wait staff service was impressive and she made great recommendations however we waited a little longer than usual for our rolls. Nothing serious but it was noticeable. Ambiance, cleanliness, decor all top notch. Menu extensive.

   Our family loves sushi so we decided to try Oishii. It was some of the best sushi we have ever had and we have been to Japan. We will be back soon!

   Maybe my bar was set too high since there are plenty examples in the DFW area alone where it's difficult to duplicate the original. I found this to be the case with Oishii. The "goods": - service was attentive and nice - atmosphere (visual) was great - parking MUCH easier than the Wycliff location The "bads": - a lot more screaming kids with parents talking (way too loud) baby talk while walking their kids all around the dining area - it IS Grapevine and unfortunately we were seated in a side "party room" with two large groups including many kids / babies - spring rolls: Unmemorable. I've had better at most "hole in wall" (cheap) Vietnamese places - hot and sour: personal preference not to my liking. A bit too "savory" and greasy tasting - Sizzling Crispy Shrimp, Scallops & Whitefish: given that they only had three "signature dishes" you'd think you can't go wrong. While it WAS "sizzling", it was far from "crispy". The breading that pretty much fell off the pieces of seafood onto the not great tasting "goo" sauce was a pile of mush. It's not often I leave a place wishing I had gone somewhere else and/or ordered something else. Unfortunately this was one of those rare times.

   We have been to Oishii many times but I’ve got to be honest when I say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a while. It took an hour and 40 min for our food to show up and even when it did it was piece meal with 1 dish followed by another every 5 minutes. It seemed like other tables were underwater as well. I actually had to run to McDonalds to get my daughter food bc she was so hungry. The server apologized but the manager was no where in sight. The food seemed to go downhill as well and sadly what was one of our favorite places is no more.

   Second visit and both times it took forever to get the food. Both times had to talk to the manager. Today the server blamed us for not putting the entire order at once…

   Always our go-to for great sushi. We tried the Mustang roll for the first time tonight, that’s one of our favorites now. Also loved the Royce & Salmon Belly. Everything was A+.

   As always, we had an amazing time! the Poke roll was not as good as it normally is. The tuna around Poke roll did not seem super fresh and the portion was a bit smaller than normal. We did try the Pho and it was amazing! Cassie is always exceptional with her service to us and always remembers our favorite beverages and menu selections.
